I like using Fresh Step. I change it once a week. I only have one cat.I can never smell anything bad from the litter box.

yes, baking soda definitely helps absorb the odor and
i love that family dollar has it for 50 cents a box

...i like tidy cats because its a little cheaper where i shop
and it doesn't have any added scents. i don't like the mixed
smells of perfumed+soiled litter. i'd rather have a non-scented.

also, i've tried the super cheap powdery kind and although its
cheap, its just not worth the craptastic quality. no pun intended, heh.
[ we all have a place in history. mine is in the clouds. ]

:cat: We have 3 cats with 2 litter boxes.  Their favorite litter is Fresh Step, and I agree with them - it works the best!  We also use the Arm & Hammer deoderant powder that keeps it fresher for them.    :star: :cat: :cat: :cat:

Cat Attract- works well, and the cats really seem to like it.

when I had cats, I tried to stick with the Arm and Hammer litter...seemed to work well.  if things needed freshening up a bit, plain old baking soda in the box took care of it.

I use to have 3 beautiful cats.  :cat: :cat: :cat:  Zoe, Wendel  and Daisy May..... they were my babies..... Too sad to talk about but the question was about litter.  I used all kinds and the best I found was the Kroger brand in the large buckets.... It is courser and has less dust than the others.  It is hard to carry because it is so big but it really was my favorite when I have my little ones.  Hope this helps :cat:

I don't use litter at all.  I have found that the Febreeze pellet system is an excellent replacement to messy litter.

I love cats, they taste great.

Kidding of course, I'm not much of an animal person.

For my kitty Lego  I use Freshstep crystals. A little expensive, but it works when used right. I use a two part kitty litter pan. The bottom is just a regular base, but it has a  grid like piece that snaps on top. So it leaves like an inch of crystals on the bottom that do not get stirred up that hold all of the urine smell really well. I clean regular solid waste daily, then once every 3-4wks dump the whole thing and start over  :cat:

Well, I used to have a cat, for four years actually, but she ran away two years ago, and I still miss her whenever I see a cat commercial on TV. ='( But yes, when I had her, I think the first brand we bought was Freshstep, because when your cat steps in it, it activates the litter to absorb the bad smell and keep the litter box smelling fresh. However, I think it was a little pricey so we started using other brands that were cheaper. But I think it really didn't matter, because we kept the litter box in the basement and no one could smell it anyways. ;p

Our favorite is Scoop Away for most of the cats, however we used the recycled newspaper for the kittens when they were younger (6 wks-3 months) and currently for my oldest cat (20 yrs).  This litter for us seems to keep the odor down and is pretty easy to scoop.
