Worst sickness you ever had?

i've thrown up for the pat 3 and 1/2 days because i ate expired cookiedough icecream....everytime i ate i puked...mom threatened to drag me to the hospital.....Did u have something worse?

Mono was the worst for me. I got a pretty high fever, which later left me with a relatively rare disorder in my demographic called Hemicrania Continua.

I had a headache for almost 5 months after my headache went away because they had so much trouble diagnosing it.

I caught Hepatitis C. I could handle the bellyache,  I could handle the fatigue. but when I started treatment I felt like I had teh fllu 24 hours aday for 24 weeks and I got so anemic I could walk to the end of the block without running out of breath. Turned out the treatment was worse than the disease. I wouldn't wish those horrible days on anyone

shingles.  it lodged in a pelvic nerve nest, so I now have PHN, which means I have to take Lyrica, and that stuff (it does work) has the nastiest chronic side effects.  I've lost a lot of functioning over the last eight months.

I have several health conditions, so when i get sick which is quite often im usually just thankful that its something i can get past.

wow, after reading everyone else's posts i feel like my worst sickness is the equivalence of a paper cut
my worst has been morning sickness. i know that for most its not that big of an issue but for me it was horrible. for the first 3 months i could not keep anything down, and was hospitalized 4 times to get an iv. the rest of the pregnancy was not as bad, but there was still morning (or should i say all day) sickness at least 4 times a week. to sum it up, where most women gain 20 pounds during pregnancy, my weight at time of delivery was still 10 pounds below my pre-pregnant weight because i lost 30 pounds the first few months

i have had the flu several times in the past but i always seem to get over it.

the flu when I was in college ran a very high fever and was sick for over a week.

I had a piece of food (never swallowed any foreign matter that I know of)  caught in my digestive track that caused unbearable pain and pressure.  It had to be sucked out with tubes that were down my throat in the hospital.  I just hope it never happens again.  It was strange, I never have stomach or digestive problems at all even now.

March, 1973 .  I was a freshman in college on a quarter system and got what the doctor considered to be very close to Mononucleosis.  I was out of school for 3 weeks, had a Calculus class, and thanks to my girlfriend, whom I later married, I passed with a "C" because she got me all the notes I needed for the tests.

I have had 5 back surgeries, but the worst sickness was salmonella poisoning from undercooked chicken. Was in intensive care for two weeks, had to have blankets with ice water running thru them over me, had a small stroke from my fever being so high, and was conscious when  one nurse told the other in the middle of the night "we better call the family in"  Luckily I survived and am fine (other than the back) - but beware of undercooked chicken!!!!! If it looks pink, don't eat it!

A couple of years ago I had the flu.  I'd never had it before and haven't had it since.   My whole body ached I felt like I was dying.

i had phenomena three times. and it has to be the worse thing ever.

Two yucky events.  I had meningitis and a disease called rhabdomyolysis!

When I was pregnant with our 3rd child I had what the doctors called "hyper emesis gravidarum" - which means extreme morning sickness -- during the first part of the pregnancy. 

I couldn't keep food or liquid in my (either end) so would end up dehydrated.  I was hospitalized 4 times for iv re-hydration.  I could gain 5 pounds of fluid overnight while hooked up to the iv.

It did pass and baby #3 was healthy and normal .

We even went on to have baby #4.  (No problems during that pregnancy)
