Would you get a PS3, or an Xbox 360, and why?

Recently (2 hours ago) my Xbox 360 broke for the FOURTH time. I was wondering if maybe I should ditch my Xbox, or get a PS3.
But only a couple problems.

• I have about 20-25 games
• About $120 in downloadable content I can't transfer
• 4-5 Months left of Xbox LIVE
• $15 in Microsoft Points

Should I get a PS3? Also, what's your opinion on this?

I would buy an xbox 360, because nowadays, you can play movies in them, and also burn games and play them in there, theres just more to do with an xbox 360 than what u can do with a play station like what? nothing...

I love the Xbox 360, but Ps3 is great also. Xbox you have to pay for the internet and Ps3 is with it and with a Ps3 you also get a bluray player I think that makes it worth the money

You must be kidding? PS3 has a built in blu ray player. Which sell for $150 by themselves. YOU CANNOT burn games in an xbox. Xbox are the biggest pieces of crap ever made. Everyone who owns an Xbox get "the red ring of death". Which means their xbox is broke. Oh and not to mention you DONT have to pay for PS3 online. PS3 is wayyyyy better than xbox. Ive had my PS3 for 3+ years and have never had a problem with it. So to answer your question, ditch the xbox, sell it on ebay (make sure you say theres something wrong with it) and get a PS3!

Well if you are already on 360 I say keep it just make sure to get an elite next time, I have a PS3 and literally only use it as a blue ray player, all of the good games for PS3 are on 360(God of war being the exception). Someone said everyone that owns xbox gets red rings but I've had the same one for 2 years, play it everyday and it still works great.  $5 is sooooo worth live if you like to play online. Another thing is the xbox controller is so much better, PS is made for little Japanese hands, lol. If you get a PS3, I'll be happy to recover that tag for you.

Then, get a PS3, they don't seem to be as big of a waste of money based on the fact that they don't break every other month.

I personally own a PS3, but pretty much value them the same. I'd just stick with the 360 for now since you have invested money into keeping stuff for it.

If you do switch consoles, you can use a site like Game Trade Zone to trade the 360 games for ps3 games you want.

I have an XBox Elite and it's worked fine for the past 2 years-maybe even 3!!  I don't have it constantly on, though, so that could be part of it.  If you decided to switch, though, sell your games on eBay!  Sell it all on there-you can at least make a little money to put towards your new console.  Can you transfer those points, too?  Maybe you could sell those on eBay as well.  Might just have to take the loss on the XBox Live thing....

lol @ breaking every other month. PS3 is just overall better but do what you want. Keep the xbox.... youll have fun playing it for 2 months then youll have to wait 3 months while you ship it to microsoft for repairs.

I love our xbox360, we have a wii as well but i prefer the xbox.. the game section is way better and i love xbox live

Well, I'd say it depends on what's important to you.  I own all 3 of the major consoles (Wii, Xbox 360, and PS3), and the Xbox by far gets the most usage.  This is not just because it has the better games, but primarily because of the addictive achievement system.  I know the PS3 has trophies and whatnot, but somehow they seem a bit lame compared to a good ol' Gamerscore.

How are you on your fourth Xbox, btw?  Are you making sure it gets enough airflow under it?  I am on my second Xbox in 4 years; the first one still "works", but has the annoying habit of ejecting the game that's playing from time to time. 

To play devil's advocate, you can turn in all of your old Xbox games to GameStop for decent money or store credit.  And $15 in lost points really isn't that bad.  But...if you want my opinion...don't do it; the Xbox is way better!!

I have a PS3 and it's mainly because back then, PS2 was my main game console. I went through PS1 as well and played a tons of classic games like Final Fantasy 7 and 8 so naturally I would get PS3 next as my console of choice after PS2. Aside from that, I was hoping games like Final Fantasy 13 would be exclusive on the PS3 but Squaresoft just go multi-console on that one and threw me off.

However, I have a friend who has a 360 and he has a great library of games, many of which are exclusives. I went to his house to play sometimes and I admit there's almost no difference in graphics between the two (unless you are nitpicking). As for the bluray thing, I use it sparingly but why waste your money on a movie you would watch at most 3 times, just get a DVD or go online and watch it.
