At what age did you start working?

I was eleven years old and I had my own paper route.  Back then, all young boys had a paper route at one time in their life.  That was before our country turned into a sick and dangerous place.  You do not see kids delivering paper anymore.  Thanks to my first job, I learned what responsibility was all about.

I was 15 yrs. old.  I lied about my age and said I was 16 so i could get the job.

I was 14 and my first job was at Disneyland. I still have the Kenwood receiver I bought with the money I earned....40 years ago.

Hello everyone, SOme of you already know that I have 2 teen girls. well the both want to get jobs and I don't know if i'm ok with that. How old were you and if you have older kids or teens how old were they when they started working and what advice can you give me to feel a little better about this I still see them as my babies  and don't want to let them go. I mean I know i have to and I know I will just want to get some input lol 

  well to tell you the truth i had a paper route at the age of 11 and i started pushing a wheelbarell at the age of 13 helping out with the brick mason.

I was 14 when I started coaching gymnastics. I really worked to get my lessons for free, but I got a small paycheck. My first "real" job I was 16.

I started working at 7.  I lived on a dairy farm and each evening the milking cows and baby calves needed to be feed.  I continued through high school working on the farm and being hired out.  Hard work, yes, but I wouldn't have changed it for a thing!

I started working at 6.  We had chicken and one of my chores was to feed them and collect the eggs.  I hated collecting the eggs

I started babysitting when I was 11.  Got an actual job at 16.

does babysitting counts??? I was very mature mentally and even physically at age 13. I started making money by babysitting my younger cousins and family friends' kids. Then when I turned 18 I had my first "clock-in" n "clock-out" part time job at a fashion retail store in a mall

I started working at age 13 at our Catholic School's Parish's rectory office.  Have actually still worked there, but only on weekends during the semesters.  It's weird thinking I have been working for almost 10 years.

I started working at 16 but it was only a summer job teaching swimming for 90 cents an hour and about 3 hours a day.  That was a lot of money for a teenager back then.  I enjoyed it and believe it was very beneficial.

i'm 27 now and have been working since i was 14 working and going to school washard at first but it was how i became the person tht i am today hard working and it also made me appreciate the value of a dollar i learned how to save money, my mom favorite i was to tired to hang out so i stayed out of trouble. Make a deal with them if thier grades drop in any way they have to quit.  Trust me
