Have you ever gotten acrylic nails?

 I  started getting my nails done when I was 15. I was hooked. now I am 34. i can,t remmemmber the last time i had my nails done. I do miss them when i see my girlfriends whith them. Then i look down at my nails and miss my hands looking like that . but the cost. money and with four kids and a job that does not pay much I realy can't right now.

I had them for years when I lived in New York.  They were great and they always made my hands look polished and elegant.  The only part I hated was when I would have them removed to give my real nails a breather, my real nails would be so thin and brittle and dry.  Not fun, so I would wait a couple of weeks until my nails came back to normal and back on with the acryllics again.  The only time I wouldn't wear them is when I was pregnant because those chemicals can get into your bloodstream.

I got them when I wanted to get french tips, just painted. This was my first time getting my nails done. I tried to explain it to them but someone how I ended up getting acrylics and a pedicure. I hated it. I kept telling the guy I didn't want them that long and he kept going "no it's fine it's fine." They look nice on other people. I just can't deal with the feeling that if I'm not careful my whole nail will rip off.

I used to get my nails done, but after a while they got to be too much of a hassle and too expensive having to get them filled every other week (my nails grow super fast). Plus after I took mine off my nails were really unhealthy looking for the longest time. Now I just prefer my long natural nails and can paint them and design them any which way I want. Maybe sometime in the distant future I'll get them done again, but not anytime soon.

yes i have had them.  i loved them. when i get a chance i will get them again.  it was something i did for myself.  i'm a mom and i do everything for everyone else and i started do that for me. the only thng in my life that was just for me,  i will do it again soon.

yes but i hate taking them off and how i have to wait for my nails to get strong again before i can put new ones on

I've only used the temporary Halloween ones.  I work with my hands a lot, and they would get in the way and/or damaged.

I have never gotten acrylic nails-never had to.  My nails have always grown out very long.  Also I have seen what acrylic does to your natural nails and its not a pretty sight.

ive had them and loved them..just gotta be extra careful with them.

I have done my own with the acrylic nail set you can buy at the store it dont last as long as getting it done by someone who knows more about it but your nails dont look as bad when your done.

yes i got acrylic nails b4 it was alrite but i wuld never get them again

i got acrylic nails only once and professionally done, but i'm a perfectionist and they were perfect enough for me. some of them were crocked and it bothered the hell out of me.
