Make a post of When We Were young and post what you remember what was happening back then and what is now that is different.

Here is mine:  When we were young there were no cell phones and people did not have house phone, we had to go over to someone house that had a phone to use them. We would always say "Can I borrow your phone?" Never borrowed a phone could not take it out of the house, and there was no such thing as a cordless phone. I don't know why we said that. LOL

When I was young you were the shizz if you had a GameBoy Color.  ^_^
The idea of networking with other people through a video game was unheard of.

When I was young, pop or soda was a special treat.  We sat around the kitchen table as a family to drink Mountain Dew--- the original Mountain Dew with the Hillbilly on the bottle.  The cork blew a hole in his hat or something like that!  "Yahoo!  Mountain Dew!  It'll tickle your innards!"

Today ids drink soda daily.....

And we were out all day long, and before cell phones my parents had no clue where I was as long as was back in the house before the street lights came on......

Now you have to know where your kids are all the time - alot more preditors around now

when i was 9-12 years old, during the summertime, i would get on my bike and leave my house at 9am. i would ride my bike all over town with my 2 cousins and would sometimes go back home around 1pm for lunch but usually would pool together our money and share something from carl's jr or burger king and would not go home until 5 or 6pm. my parents had no idea where i went or what i did (unless one of their friends or my aunts and uncles happened to see us out during the day) and they didn't have to worry. there were no cells or pagers to keep track of us, not even stopping at a payphone to check in. this really saddens me because i can not allow my 9 year old to have this same experience. i start to get anxious when he is 5 minutes late coming home from his school bus stop 2 blocks away.

When we were young I remember them old cassette tapes, recording songs off of the radio, the top 40 with casey casem, making a tape guide, writing each song down and stapling it together, then rewind, fastforward, rewind fast forward, to get to your favorite song, only to have the tape break, crack it apart with a hammer, or if it had screws, unscrew it, splice the tape back together with scotch tape, use scissors, to cut perfect lines, reel it back up in them small reels, put the case back together and play, missing part of your song, oh what complication, download please.

When I was young all of the neighborhood kids would get together to play outside from sun up to sundown in the summer time, and in the winter time we would stay out in the snow until we were frozen solid! Now kids just want to play on the computer, play video games, anything that does not involve breaking a sweat.
