Home Business - Graphic Designers

Considering independent graphic design as a side job for a little extra money since it's a talent of mine.
Anyone start up something like that themselves? Or even work for a graphic design company? I'd love to hear about it, maybe get some advice?

I have thought about starting a small niche site and adding ads.  The main problem is generating enough quality content.  I won't commit to anything until I've assembled enough that I know I can go forward.

i wish i would've gone for graphic design, instead of
interior design. the school i went to offered a few different
design degrees...

when i pop onto monster and careerbuilder, graphic design
jobs are consistently listed! go take a look at how many
opportunities there are...

of course, they all say they want experience in the field 
how do you gain experience then? come on now.
