Are women more "jealous" than men?
« on: April 27, 2010, 12:39:58 pm »
Most studies target women as being the most jealous.. but most murders due to jealousy are done by men?

i don't really think the murder statistic shows that men
are more jealous. it seems to me that this would be
saying men tend to act out their jealousy more violently?

and i'll believe that.

i'll also believe that women are the more overall-jealous
gender. coming from a woman's perspective, we put more
effort and emotions into caring about what we don't have,
or what we want. not to mention caring about others have
that we want! which could be anything from materialism to
attitudes, etc.

i speak in general terms - not putting we girls down!
i believe the statistic, though.
[ we all have a place in history. mine is in the clouds. ]

I think that it is a 50/50 split on this topic - it depends on the person or persons involved at the time.

Most of these studies are probably not true. They observe a certain number of people and try to generalize the results to the entire humanity! I mean the person who did this studies can argue that he took people from different backgrounds to do his studies, but despite that, every individual is different and the results are almost always valid only for the group but not in general.

I completely agree with response #5.  Both women and men get jealous for stupid people, however guys are more idiotic in the way to act it out.  This little topic can go really deeply into brain bs.  For example: Men have bigger brains, but not on the part that counts for self restraint (it's actually smaller on average).  Men's brains tend to have less of a filter or better put, a more easy to break through filter than women.  You can go even deeper with the whole bits of white matter and grey matter, but that's another subject all together, aye laddies?  Personally though, I do believe that women tend to get jealous more so over stupid things than men who are either just that way, because of genetics or simply because they're used to it BECAUSE of the culture! (That's another subject too!)

Now that I've lit the match - lets see who'll throw it into the gas. :)

I have no reason to be jealous, and my husband was never jealous but then we never did anything to make one another jealous.

I think it's about the same, sort of...it depends on what it's over. Women seem to be jealous of the looks men give other women, flirt...Men get jealous over attention women spend on things other than them, friends, kids, work...I think it's a control thing. Men love to control women. NOT ALL men, but my Ex was that way. If I was on the computer too long I was cheating on him...idiot!

I think murder, even out of jealousy, has more to do with being totally nuts than envy.
I think men are more jealous in relationship situations, but girls are more likely to be jealous of each other.

I think they are both even...I do not think i could be with someone that is not jealous lol...i know that might sound crazy but i think it shows how much they care about you...it just can't turn into crazy jealousy!! just enough to know they care!

I DO BELIEVE WOMEN ARE MORE JEALOUS THEN MEN BECAUSE I AM A WOMAN AND WE DO GET VERY JEALOUS OF OUR MAN.WE WILL BEAT THE F*$# OUT OF ANOTHER GIRL JUST FOR LOOKING AT OUR MAN.MOST MEN DON'T EVEN PAY ENOUGH ATTINTION TO KNOW IF ANOTHER MAN IS CHECKING OUT THEIR GIRL.WELL THATS MY OPINION.
