My name is Alicia, and I didn't like it when I was younger because at the time it was a strange and unusual name.  Now I think I like it better because as you get older it isn't as important to be like everyone else anymore.

Like my uniquely-spelled, uncommon name, don't like that nobody can spell it correctly. I passed the curse on to my daughter. Hopefully she will like her name when she is an adult as well!

I have never really liked my name, but knew I could not change it because of my Mom and Dad.  I had always wished they been just a little more imaginative.

I always heard people saying that they hated their names, but I never had a problem with mine. I never had people in my classes with the same name, and I thought that was pretty cool.

Yes!  I legally changed it when the employer's said I can't go by that name.  HA HA  So I went to the court house, got the papers, went to the hearing and legally changed it.   Vy Hazel

Now be honest wouldn't you after 30+ years found out you got your name from someone in the telephone book.    
Yes that's what happen when I was born.  My aunt told me about a year ago my dad wanted to name my Hazel Veronica after both grandmother's and mother said "NO".  So to spite everyone she just took the telephone book and picked out my first name of Vivian
and the middle name Arlene.  Gee wonder if it was because she was a teenager at 17 and she was just being a pain.
