What is considered "the golden hour" relating to an emergency?

The "golden hour" is medically defined as the one hour time period in which a critically injured individual can be saved by medical intervention.  The chances of survival after that one hour time period decreases significantly.

I did read FC rules and this is not my site. The information was from the Doctor Oz show.  I put it up there because how many people know what to do in an emergency.  This is very important information that God forbid if such an emergency comes up you would hopefully remember and know what to do!  That was the reason for the link in this posting from Dr. Oz Video "The Golden Hour" along with the information from The University Hospital.  How many times does it happen that a life was saved just because someone happened to mention to their young son and daughter to dial 911 in emergency.
