Can you even BELIEVE THIS?? Remember awhile back how we were all freaking out (ok, I was anyway...) about PrivatePhone discontinuing its free voicemail service this month and we were all scrambling about looking for another free voicemail service to use? Remember how I think it was Madd4Money told us about AIM free phoneline? WELL!! I just found out that AIM is also discontinuing its free service. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! Now what are we going to do? :crybaby2:

Yep its getting a bit ridiculous to find a free internet voicemail.  Try www.k7.net and see if you can sign-up for one there.   I am running out of places   lol   :BangHead: :BangHead: :BangHead: :BangHead:

Pretty soon its going to be our real numbers and signing up for the do not call registry.

NAH, that will never happen. I get like 6-7 telemarketing calls a day. I could never use my regular home phone number......we would never get any sleep because they call all hours of the day and night.

Ok, heres the scoop on the AIM free voicemail service. I got a message from a fellow GPT'er and this is her response to my freak out over what I read and then responded to in her blog.

"I just saw your comment about the AIM Phoneline on my blog. They are not accepting NEW signups right now by the looks of things - but my existing line is working just fine -- I just checked messages on it yesterday. I don't think they are doing what PrivatePhone is - completing discontinuing - so you should be able to continue to use your existing line."

Back to me.............I signed up for Aim a little over a month ago, so hopefully I wont be affected by this. BUT....I sure am keeping that K7 website that Madd4Money provided on hand if the above information turns out not to be true.

TRY E-VOICE

You gotta pay for E-Voice though, its not a free service.

I use Lazer, its free and simple

All you have to do is call: (206) 376-1000
You will be guided through an automated menu and receive your free voicemail number immediately!

Your callers can leave their messages on your voicemail box and you can listen to your messages using the same unique number. You then have the option to save or delete your messages as you choose.

I use my landline...which is used strictly for the internet and does not even have a phone plugged into it (so when whoever calls the phone rings and rings forever, but I never hear it lol).. I use my cell phone though for any personal calls, so I found a use for my landline afterall, besides for the internet.

I did read here that some offers require your number to be in your own area code, so Lazer or K7 are going to give you a 206 area code that will work all the time only if you live in Seattle. I am going to use my home phone, then forward it to Lazer when I go to bed, no wake up calls. When they call during the day, it's another prospect I can send to my website, right?
