My ex-husband used to tell me he didn't get me anything or wish me a happy mother's day because I was not him mother.     Guess there's a reason he's my ex! lol!

I don't have a wife or children but if I did, I would not give my girlfriend/wife a gift because she wouldn't be my mother. The children can do that since she would be the mother of them.

Then practically raised them  by myself, because he was in love with Budwiser. We were so hungry for so long, until I learned about food stamps.

My wife and I don't exchange gifts for Any holiday.
I do get her a card and a card from our girls but thats it.
thats just how we have always been, and we are ok with that.

I think that its the Fathers responsibility to get something "from" the child for their Mom(his wife) on Mothers Day. At least for the first couple years until the child wants to make something for Mom or is old enough to pick out something for mom with dad.

lol!!! my (now ex husband) said the SAME THING!!!!

I don't expect a gift, but a card or take me out to eat or something so I don't have to cook or something would be nice.

i don't NEED gifts, but I think it is nice to be recognized and acknowledged for being the hard working mother/wife.
my son is too young to recognize my special day all alone, so Daddy will help him out and that is the best ever!

if you guys have kids together and they are too young to buy their own gifts for her than yes you buy her a gift from them  otherwise - just get her a card that tells her you love her and shes a good mom

on mother's day i get flowers, breakfast at the american legion, and usually my choice for dinner. we always get my mom flowers and gift cards, or go to dinner.

if your wife is a mother you should give her a small gift to show her  that you care. who knows she might be happy enough to start making babies with you
