Is there an alternative to Ebay?
« on: April 08, 2010, 06:38:02 am »
I have Ebayed off and on for years.  I have been scammed for the last time on Ebay.  There just doesn't seem to be any protection for the seller.  Anyone know of any Ebay alternatives?

I have had good luck with ebay up until recently when the person sold the item out from under me.  Luckily I hadn't paid for the item yet but ebay said I couldn't file a complaint unless I paid for the item even though i wouldn't receive it. They told me to leave negative feedback so I tried but ebay wouldn't post it.

I have tried Craigslist.  The frustrating thing with that site is the spam.  I love Craigslist and check it daily, but the amount of junk mail you get from people on there is incredible!

if you're selling stuff you could always try amazon.com

There's amazon.com and I believe I've heard of a site called bidz.com or something like that. I'm not 100% sure what it's about though so you might want to see if you can research some online auction sites through a search engine.

eCrater, BluJay and Craigslist seem like workable alternatives, search results for the items listed there show up well on Google.  The problem is that no site has as much traffic as eBay, other than maybe Craigslist.

I wish there was a good eBay alternative.
