Do you kiss family members on the lips?
« on: April 01, 2010, 12:16:26 pm »
Mom's kiss can spread cavities to baby
A kiss on the mouth or sharing utensils can transmit bacteria

I'd rather reserve kisses on the mouth to lovers.  Once my uncle kissed me on the lips and it skeeved me out.  My family hugs when we see each other and sometimes kiss on the cheek.  I only kiss my mother on the cheek everyone else I just hug.  I only kiss my bf on the lips.  I would never even kiss my child on the lips (if I had one) mainly because I get cold sores once in a while and would hate to give it to them.

I will kiss my mother on the lips and sometimes my husband. The rest of my family members NO NO NO. Some smell like alcohol and tobacco.

The part about the uncle skeeved you out was funny  i do not kiss any family members on the lips. but i was kissed on the lips.

I don't ever kiss anyone on the lips, except the person I'm dating. I won't even share a soda or anything with someone. I think saliva sharing is just not cool.

No, never.  The only person I am kissing on the lips is the person I am dating.  Kissing family members on the lips seems a little like incest and totally inappropriate.

One time I kissed my mom on the lips because she was coming to give me a kiss good bye (we always go for the cheek) I turned the wrong way and got her lips. Felt sort of weird. I love my mom, but I would not want to do that again.

i remember being really young and kissing my parents on the lips but they got divorced and i got older and that stopped. I would only kiss a boyfriend on the mouth now.
when i got married and had kids i kissed on them on cheek and instructed them to do the same but then thier dad and i got divorced and all of a sudden they are trying to kiss me on the lips again.."we kiss dad on the lips"
That sent off alarms in my head since i had never seen him do this while we were married but then remembered that this was how his family did it and i saw how innocent it was when i picked them up from his visit and figured that when the kids got older they would quit if they were uncomfortable about it. My stepmothers family also kisses on the mouth so i guess its all in how you were raised  :dontknow:

No I have never kiss any of my family members, and never will...I think a peck on the cheek is more appropiate.

A definite no for me. I only enjoy kissing my girlfriend on the lips.

I used to get goodnight kisses from my parents on the lips when I was young.  I think that stopped when I was around 9.  When I give my niece a goodnight kiss when I'm babysitting, I kiss her on the forehead.  It just seems weird to kiss her on the lips.
