Spay or Neuter Cats
« on: March 20, 2010, 11:07:40 am »
Have you noticed how many ads there are in newspapers for free kittens?  If people were responsible and have cats, why don't they get them fixed.
Cats are #1 in over population in the USA.
People have outdoor cats that roam and roam, they get pregnant and oops another 10 kittens added to the population.
What do you think?

We have 8 indoor cats and all are spayed and neutered. They live longer and are healthier if you spay and neuter them.

Mine stays outside but she was fixed years ago. I'm always worried one of the strays that wonder over here is pregnant. I had to find a home for a kitten a while back that I guess someone just dropped off on our road. Luckily a lady at work wanted it.

We have all of ours fixed even though they never go outside, in fact our two 4 month old kittens are going next month to get fixed.  You never know if one might escape outside and populate.

We had seven indoor cats and all of them were fixed. It's so much better for the cat. It's sad to think of how many are put down just because somewhere along the way some owner was too lazy to be responsible for their pet.

I have 2 cats, a male and female. He is neutered and she is spayed. They are strictly indoor cats.  :)

I was planning on not spaying my cat but I had no other choice because she was crying and making noises throughout the middle of the night!!!. :dog:

I agree that it responsible for people to spay or neuter their cats.

It reduces the overpopulation of unwanted kittens.

All my four cats are spay/neutered.  Unfortunately, there' an intact tomcat the lives down the street, and he tears up my animals on a regular basis.

It's so sad.  I think a renter abandoned him when they moved.  Eventually I'm going take him to the pound.

I think that quite often people end up w/ a stray cat having kittens in their garage/yard/etc and they are trying to find homes for the kittens....At least I hope that is the case.  This has happened to my sister before and she is albe to catch the kittens but the mama cat is too wild to catch.
