Ever since Nintendo released Wii Fit, long time Nintendo fans have been disgraced by Nintendo's lack of hardcore games... but I feel that its not really as bad as everyone makes it to be, with these points...

Fact One, Nintendo have recently released Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart Wii, and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2, which are all hardcore games.

Fact Two: Nintendo is also making Pikmin 3 and Animal Crossing: City Folk, which have prequels that were very highly praised by game critics.

Fact Three: Playing casual games is a good way to play games with family who aren't very good gamers. I had a blast playing Wii Fit with my sister, and she hates video games.

Wrapping it up, Nintendo is still making Hardcore games, but they are also making casual games to appeal to a wider range, so even though that means less hardcore games, there will be some people out there that really enjoy playing casual games, so really, everyone gets what they want.

That is my two cents. What do you think?

I don't think Nintendo ever made hardcore games. IMO it was always a kid/family game.
They couldn't compete with the other gaming systems so they better stick with what is working now.

I have a Wii for the kids, every game I have bought for myself on the Wii I wish I would have got it on the PS3.
But it is great for the kids. I will only get games for kids on it until they start playing the PS3.

The wii is more of a family oriented playing system than other systems like the ps2. It has its specialties, like the wii fit and old wii sport games, those who are looking for more of these 'hardcore' games shouldn't be looking at the wii...

Lol sorry I forgot to mention, because I was just being a little cheeky minx yesterday that they are coming out with Street Fighter for the Wii. So that might be enjoyable for some.

I own both the Nintendo Wii and the Playstation 3.

The Wii does have games such as Call of Duty and Madden, but like hwilliams591 said, they are better on platforms such as the Playstation 3 or XBOX 360.

If you have a group of friends over, the Wii is much more enjoyable for everyone.  If it is just myself playing games then Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on the Playstation 3 is what i'll be playing :)

I've been thinking about saving up for a wii since my super nintendo crapped out. I miss playing Super Mario Brothers, Mario Kart and Yoshi's Island.

I agree that the Wii is more of a family orientated game. It also gives you quite a workout where the hardcore games are really not that interactive.
