I have a ton of food allergies plus lactose intolerance, so I can't have the things I really love...I've had to continually over the years modify almost everything.

if I could still eat what I wanted?  cheese.  anything with cheese in it.  pizza, calzones, lasagna, mozzarella sticks, garlic bread with cheese...*wipes the drool off my chin

im sorry to hear that but I love your style you like Italian foods next to Japanese that is my favorite food style now I dont know your type of alergy but have you tried to substitute goat cheese instead it has a differnt kind of protean in it that some people that are allergic to lactose can have. and I know they're making leaps and bounds in soy cheeses they are a touch on the pricey side but are good any way

Im sorry but I have to say this I keep hearing about how food is now the enemy of all who may think they are are over  weight how carbs are bad, how can they be bad if your body needs them to live and work properly.   we have it all wrong Food doesn't always equal fat its the places you go to eat and what you make at home you don't have to eat all on your plate when you go out to a restaurant. they have doggy bags for a reason. they keep telling me that I cant have some foods. WRONG! you just need to eat less of it in stead of a whole peace of cake eat less of it I.E. cut what you want to eat or normally eat then cut that in half. if you dont want to waste say you'll never finish the cake instead of making a 2 full 9" round cakes to decorate and frost make one 9" round cake cut it in half and place the other half as the top layer. Thats five slices of cake right there. one slice a day and you are set for the week. I see these people so sad on their diets that exclude things while my diet only has me limit how much I have its all portion control. easy as that A little bit of will goes a long way. our society has it wrong you shouldn't eat to live nor should you live to eat you should "eat to love" meaning eat what you love with friends and family. enjoy what you are eating but dont let yourself take it to far to where you feel stuffed you cant move. that's my rant thanks for all your replies so far keep them coming

I like pasty's. They have potatoe, hamburger, and onion ( you can modify to your liking) baked inside a pie crust.  These are really popular in the Upper Pennsula of Michigan

How about a jam sandwich, you just take two pieces of bread and jam them together.
