Also, not everyone has the luxury of staying at home to raise their children and/or getting "paid by the government." What does that even mean? How do you get paid by the government to babysit? If it's your nephew you should do it for free. That's what family is for. My mom was a young, single mother and thank the heavens for my grandmother and grandfather because they helped take care of me when she had to work and go to school. They didn't expect a dime from anyone for it because that's what family does for one another. They support each other in times of need.

I am a working mom, and I do miss my baby sometimes, but I doubt I would really want to be home everyday like a stay at home mom.  It's mostly hectic right now because I am working full time, finishing my last semester of school (full time), and completing a required 90hr internship.  So I really do feel like I don't see my baby enough.  I think I'll be more content with being the working mom when the semester is over, and things become more normal and evenly paced.

A working mom and a stay at home mom both work for their futures and for their families.

I love and respect both of them for their choices. We have two sides of a coin here.

A working mom has to go to work and leave her children all alone, thus she does not have as much time as she should with them, but is providing herself and the family. Working moms usually have good reasons for doing such things. An example would be a tremendously low income or a loser of a father.

A stay at home mom helps her children and provides and protects her family.. a stay at home mom is probably the best kind of mom.. However this mom is taxed greatly because she barely gets any action in life, she spends most of her time in the home doing the same routine over and over again.. a mother who gets bored easily will whine about the work she does at times.. but will begin to understand why she does it, and who she does it for.

Both have to do a great amount of work; and can get stressed extremely easily when put to the limit.
Any general mother has it hard. Any general mother also has to remember who shes working for and why.

I still prefer a stay at home mom though. But a working mom is as strong as they come, especially if they have it hard enough already.

A mother should not have to work when she has her male figure right there in front of her to do all the difficult tasks.
She should spend time nurturing and loving the baby so that it grows with love, affection, and thus gains the abilities you put into the baby. A baby filled with despair will act as a a child filled with despair.. probably even hatred and sorrow.

Well I have been both.

I was in the work force for years pulling 8 to 12 hour shifts. I loved the money because it provided for my family. I would even work overtime just to see those extra dollars. I will tell you though that I would sometimes cry myself to sleep at night becuase I would have no time to spend with my babies. I hated to even go to work beacuse my youngest (4) would cry for me to stay. When he got old enough to talk he would ask me if I had to go to work, I would tell him yes and he would say "No Mommy stay here with me", it broke my heart.

At present I am a stay at home Mom, partially by choice and partially because the area I am in has the highest un-employment rate in the State. I will say though, my favorite time of the day is seeing my son(my oldest 9) come home from school and helping him with his homework. I love that I can take care of the house and jump on the trampoline with the kids. I love the fact that they are being taken care of by me and not some stranger that would impose their beliefs and structure on them rather than my own or their Father's.

Not to say I don't have respect for child caregivers because..man...WHOO. Having 2 children can drive you up the wall, but a whole room of them. LOL Kudos to the ones that actually care about the kids.

But to keep on topic, I think if I had the freedom of choice that I would stay at home with my children. However, in these days and times it is difficult and I am looking for a job. I am also pursuing the Fusion Cash opportunity to see if maybe I can make my dream of staying home with my children come to fruition.

i think it is your choice. going to work can be a big drag and very annoying if you dont find the one you love but at the same time stayin home all day with your babies could drive you crazy !

Before my daughter, I must say that I was definitely content with being a work/school hoiic, however, since i have been pregnant and now have my ten month old, I love being a WAHM. I still work, only from home. It is actually more of a challenge, i think, to work from home with a small child. You have the ability and freedom to say, oh i will get to work later, but it doesnt always work that way. lol! Nonetheless, I love staying home with my baby girl and watching her grow everyday in her own little ways!! To each their own and GOD Bless! :icon_rr:

I'm a working mom trying to supplement my income...I don't plan on making much, but every cent counts nowadays.  I would love to be an at home mom, but it's just not do-able right now.

I am a stay at home mom!! Although I worked right after my first child was born and it was fine but once my husband established good with the career he had choosen he told me I would never have to leave the kids again unless I wanted too. And unlike most I find being a stay at home mom the hardest most challenging job & the most rewarding!!!

Stay at home moms work for the love of their family (not saying in anyway working moms do not), we are cooks, cleaners, referees, coaches, cheerleaders, maids, nurses, taxi drivers, event planners, counselors we work long hours and some with little sleep. We do not get a vacation in the sense of working moms. We do not get paid in cash we get paid in I love yous, hugs, kisses & artwork. I praise those who find time to do it all, go to work and have time for their children (as I remember those days and the little time I spent with my daughter in that part of my life). I consider myself really lucky that I am able to be with my girls when they first wake up till the moment I tuck them back into bed. I wouldn't change my life for anything.

I have often considered creating a new online personality as a stay at home mom and I bet my income would double. It's a clique that is a virtual goldmine from my observation. Unfortunately I have too much integrity to like like that, but it's tempting.

So...got any secrets for the SAHM's then?  LOL cause I could totally use that money.  ;)

I have been both. I have to say, I really liked the confidence boost I got bringing home money. Right now I'm a stay at home mom and I love that too but when we struggle to pay bills and keep ourselves afloat....but we can't afford child care either so I stay at home because I want to, but even if I didn't want to, I don't have a choice.
