Hello Mr. Six Pack Of Confidence, I'm glad to see you've already met Mrs. Twelve Ounces Of Loneliness. And Mr. Plastic Cup Politics, I see you’re under the influence of warm beer and the comfort of all your friends, And I see that Mr. Loud Mouth has had his 40 ounce and will pass out.

Back on topic though, there's so many causes for depression that you really can't be certain it's due to being a stay-at-home mom. I knew a lady who once thought she was depressed over the same thing-- turns out she just needed sex. I'm not saying this will work for you, necessarily, but it sure wouldn't hurt to try.

SinnerMerc is just being a troll.  When he said "Stay-in-the-kitchen Moms are great, too." he was being offensive to women, claiming that they just belong in the kitchen.

Depression is a big demon to battle all alone. My outlet is writing...if you don't have any hobbies, try a few out;is a part time job an option? When mine were younger I found and evening/weekend job so my husband could stay home with the kids and not pay for day care. If these suggestions don't work for you, seek help. There are alot of free mental health resources available-use them. Good luck, I will keep you in my prayers.

Are your kids old enough to pretty much take car of themselves with minimal supervision?  (ie, they won't draw on the walls when you're not looking, etc.)  If so, try World of Warcraft.  If you can't afford to buy the game and pay the $15 to play it, try Runescape.  Its the same general kind of game (MMORPG - Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game), but its free, and will even run from within your web browser, so you don't have to install anything!

Runescape is actually the most successful MMORPG in the world, but World of Warcraft is #2.  WoW would probably be #1 if it was free, though.

Runescape is not #1 by any standards, WoW has blown RS players out of the water, more than 10 million people play WoW, RS is probably under 500k.  I used to play Runescape, and the way skills work is unbareable, it has no progression or storyline and the graphics are terrible :P WoW all the way!
