Any knitters here?
« on: February 13, 2010, 07:47:18 pm »
Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone here likes to knit. I am an avid knitter and am always on the lookout for new and interesting patterns. I would love if we could swap patterns or help with knitting advice. Right now I am working on this cute shrug cardigan and hope to have it finished by tomorrow night. Once that is done I am on the hunt for new patterns to try.
What do you all think?  :)

I wish I could say I was. I just don't know anyone who knows how so they could teach me. Looks fun though, I may look into it now that I have free time. I want to make the biggest fluffiest scarf ever made.

i don't knit, but i've recently taken up sewing!
i sew by hand for now, but i can't wait to get
my sewing machine...

anything you can think of, you can MAKE.
i think this is probably the coolest creative hobby
that i've stumbled upon. i've been coming up with
my own patterns... which of course, don't look as
clean, but i like the handmade look too.

its pretty exciting once you get the hang of it.
[ we all have a place in history. mine is in the clouds. ]

Its pretty easy once you get the hang of the basic stitches which are knit and purl. There are many online tutorials available to help you learn the basics. I like knittinghelp.com and Utube has lots of knitting sites with video tutorials too. I recently learned how to crochet by using a crochet for dummies book. It's very addicting once you get the hang of it and you will be amazed at how many things you can make. All my money from Fusion Cash goes directly into my knitting budget so I can knit more wonderful things.

OMG a sewing machine will definitely change your life and turn your sewing projects into great works of art. Sewing is indeed one of the most creative hobbies, with endless possibilities. I have made all kinds of things to accompany my knits like skirts, pants, jackets and tops.
Good luck on your sewing journey.
