Eating stuffed crust Pizza Hut pizza with chocolate dunkers and listening to White Pearl, Black Oceans by Sonata Arctica (obscure song, I know) brings back amazing memories.

Every time I smell a freshly paved street or tar I'm brought back to the memories of the summers I spent with my cousins down south up until the time I was 16.  The street they lived on wasn't paved for several years.  Then finally they paved it.

The smell of the ocean will always resonate with me.  I worked doing sea turtle research for three summers during and after my college career and will never forget it.  It was one of the best and most harmonious times in my life.  The sand, the sun, surrounded by nature, you just can't beat it.  Sea turtles are amazing creatures, to see the females coming out of the ocean on a moonlight night to secure the future of their species is a sight you cannot forget.  I am in the military now, looking to get my 20 years in, retire, and then go back to my laid back life on the beach, doing what I love most...

smell: inflatable plasic pool toys and coppertone
water babies sun screen. they remind me so much
of summers as a little girl.

hawaiian ginger (calgon brand) body spray
makes me think of seventh grade. i'm not sure if its
a "great" memory, but its a very strong sense-memory
scent for me!

also, djarum blacks (the clove cigarettes)
are very "scentamental" to me 


taste: crackers and apple juice = instant kindergarten.
sugar cookies with royal icing reminds me of childhood too.


sound:  1930s-40s romantic jazz music, even just
instrumental, calms me like no other music can. i can almost
faintly remember it from a past life maybe? or maybe i just
pretend i can. i don't know... but it does something to me.

I love body sprays and there is one called Vanilla Amber Musk by Bodycology.  I just sprayed some on and it instantly reminded me of the summertime and walking on the beach.  It really is amazing what smells, tastes, and sounds bring back memories.

Charcoal barbeques...remind me of summer. Also burning pine firewood reminds me of camping and bonfires at the beach.  Fresh cut grass reminds me of baseball. Fluffy white cumulus clouds remind me of soaring.

I always get freaked out when I smell something that brings me to an old memory lol...I think it is sooo weird. I was just thinking about it the other day when I was washing the dishes with my apple soap and I remembered being in 8th and using my apple body spray. lol
