Embarassing moments?
« on: February 02, 2010, 07:25:12 am »
So...if people feel comfortable sharing, I think it would be kind of cool to hear about some people's embarrassing moments...I know we all have had them, but sometimes it can be a spirit booster to hear other's as well!!!

So why don't you start with your most embarrassing moment.  Or are you just a voyeur wanting to look into other peoples lives to get your kicks.

I agree that the OP could have started the ball rolling by providing his/her own embarrassing moment.  Many OP'S do not give their own opinions, ideas etc, when asking for input from others.  It is kind of odd that you would think that this is a person is a voyeur looking for kicks.  There was nothing sexual at all stated or suggested when the OP was asking  about embarrassing moments.  Maybe you do not know what a voyeur really is?  I think that it would be best not to post the definition here, you can always google/bing it.  :)

Actually, voyeurism is defined as getting your kicks by spying or learning about someone's private / intimate moments. It may be in watching people engage in sex, but it could just as well mean watching them undress, go to the bathroom, or hearing them disclose their private, embarrassing moments. But I agree that the OP is probably not a voyeur, but rather like most OP's in that they present a question but then not answer it for themselves.

My embarrassing moment was during the 4th of July a couple of years ago. I drove downtown to meet some friends at their house and to watch the fireworks on the bridge that crosses the lake that they'd be shooting the fireworks from. As soon as I got to my friends, I was handed a few shots of Tequila and subsequently got extremely drunk. At the end of the night, I called my roommate to drive me home. The next morning, I realized that I had blacked out much of the previous night, including where I had parked my car! Needless to say, I had to rent a car and drive around downtown till I finally found it after several hours of searching.  :sad1:

So... I meant to share one of my embarrassing moments earlier...my apologizes...although I don't appreciate the judgments from others...
it happened two years ago when I went to NOLA on a mission trip...I went into the bathroom (we were all staying in a former parsonage) to take a shower, and, to make a long story short...I had forgotten to bring my towel in there with me, although I didn't realize it until I had almost finished....what I ended up doing is putting on my old clothes quickly, opened the door a crack, asked the person using the sink if they could run back into the room and get my towel...I heard them walk down the hall, ask others if they had seen it, to which everyone started laughing...everything was fine and I tease myself about it all the time....it was just a bit embarrassing at the time... :P
