Zooba
« on: September 01, 2007, 11:25:04 am »
I signed up for this offer for 9.95, and received a credit for 15.00. Awesome. But now the website is telling me that I have to buy three books for 9.95. The offer on the offers page said one book for 9.95, and I even checked the terms of service on the Zooba and it said absolutely nothing of this sort. Just know this if you plan to do this offer.

yeah, i had a  problem with zooba. i read the tos n  i thought it said membership was free, but i got charged 9.95, so make SURE you AGREE with the terms ! , i am not suggesting anyone cancel the service(cuz you actually really cant,  you HAVE TO BUY 3 BOOKS before you can cancel your membership!?!?, which i did not read in the tos.but maybe i overlooked, or misunderstood the tos)but it is a good offer for people who want to spend 9.95x4 to buy 3 books :) still got 15 credit n only paid 9.95, so i got 5.05 profit, im sure ill find 3 books to read on their site.

Yeah, I didn't see it in the TOS either. I checked more than once, as well.

I got into that on another site when I signed up for the Good Cook offer.  Although, they did tell me that if I sign up for the 4 books for a dollar a piece, that I would have to buy 3 more at regular club price before I could cancel.  So I've got 4 cook books sitting in my room, and I have a year to buy three more at club price before I can cancel.  It's no big deal though, because my fiance and I are getting married next summer, and we'll need all the help we can get in the kitchen, that's for sure...

It's not on ToS- you are able to cancel without purchasing 3 books, I didn't buy anything from them because it was deceptive and bad business.  Just tell them you'll fight all payments on your card if they don't cancel.

Funny thing is, the website seems to be down. I'm going to have to cancel my credit card because of this place.

Yeah, tried that pretty much. They responded and told me I have to buy three books before I can cancel. I can't get the website to work either.
