yes, sometimes I start typing so fast that I make a lot of mistakes, and I know that sometimes it looks like a bunch of gibberish.

I don't think there is any need for a spell check. America is nearly 100% literate and Firefox automatically spell checks for you.

It doesn't seem worth the effort.. At least this way you can automatically tell whether or not the post is worth reading. Spelling like a first grader just screams "DON'T RESPECT ME!"

How about...

A spell checker counts the number of errors in your post.  If the number of errors relative to the size of the post exceeds a certain limit, it won't let you make the post!
