It seems to me the older you are the harder it is. So if your young and healthy and find something stick with it.

Yes!  it is hard to get a part time job.  I have been trying for almost three years!  I am on disability, so there are jobs I can not do.   I hope you keep trying and start net working with your friends I wish you well.

:bs: Ever since I went on maternity leave, I haven't been able to either go back to work or find a job period whether it be full time or part time. The funny part is I can't find a job in my field which is computer information systems or anything regular. But gratefully, I have a fantastic life long partner who takes cares of home and is truly understanding of my situation. And also thank you, to fusion cash, this place rocks

I haven't had a hard time finding a job, full or part time, in the past but the present seems a bit more difficult.  My last paycheck from one job is this Friday and a second job finishes up, most likely, on June sixth.  This gives me more than a month to find another job but I have heard that a lot of people are averaging about two months in their job search.  Even Starbucks is taking their time on part-time hires.

It's extremely hard to find a job right now. But since you're a student, you might check with your university if you haven't already and look into the career center (or equivalent department) and get some career advice from them. They might be able to help you find a job. Good luck! And don't get discouraged.

We live in a very rural area and found that health care (you may need to complete a cert program) workers are always being hired, drivers for some of the medicare programs to drive folks to the doctor and the public library.

Honestly it's going to get a lot harder once more people graduate in May. I'm a recent college graduate and I'm still having trouble finding a good job. I had an $8/hr job that killed me mentally because it didn't involve any thought into the matter, I didn't get enough hours out of it to be worth the long drive to and from work, and honestly I didn't see myself advancing in that company.

I'm more than qualified to be a store or restaurant manager, I've had two years working in a restaurant as a supervisor, two years as a resident assistant in the dorms, along with an internship at a state's district attorney's office. I've done work along with obtaining a bachelor's degree, but unfortunately people 10-15+ years my age are more experienced and looking for those similar jobs. It's tough, but luckily you get to that point where "No" really doesn't affect you so much, and you start applying for more and more openings. Because really, the worst a company will say is "No". Once you overcome that, apply to whatever you feel like applying to.

If anyone has a PETCO near them, check their website. They just posted a bunch of part time jobs in all the areas near me, and I saw in other states they had a bunch of part time jobs too. Also sometimes IKEA has a lot of part time jobs, if there is one near you.

I am currently unemployed after 30 years and am having a hard time finding a full time job with benefits.  Good luck on your search!  My daughter has gone to UK full time and worked two jobs at the same time for the past four years.  It's been tough on her but I believe it has matured her tremendously.  She has more value on money, time, life... now.
Have a wonderful day!

No, I so hear ya.  I can't find a part time or full time job and the only ones hiring are for manager possitions.  I was talking to this one friend who is a manager in the produce section and se was talking about how she was training these people for three years and they still don't know what to do but when I asked her about a job she told me she only trains for a month and if you can't do the job by then they let you go.  I still can't figure that one out.

I came back from living in Korea in 2006, where I was a missionary. Since that time I have a hard time finding any work.. I developed a small business but now even that is suffering due to the economy. I am not sure what I am going to do next.
I was lying in bed the other night, looking up at the stars, and thinking, "Where in the heck is my roof?"
