Has anybody else tried magicJack telephone service? It's home phone line for $20/year using VoIP service thru a little USB adapter, includes voicemail and all that, international calls, calls via PC, etc. I just got it a few days ago and it's better than Vonage service -- and the same exact service from Vonage is $35/month.

:bs:  I just bought a cell phone for $10, and add minutes to it.. 10 cents a minute,, prepay phone. I spend $20 a month for the minutes, and it works just fine. A LOT cheaper than one of those things!!! I have NET 10.

How is $20 per year with unlimited local & long distance more expensive than $20 per month @ 10 cents per minute??

I haven't had an issues with call quality at this point, except when I had it plugged into a USB hub at first. The only thing I don't like is that they haven't figured out how to enable 3 way calling on magicJack, unless both of the people you 3way call directly to you. I kinda needed that for my business (and their ads clearly state that 3way is included), but it's too late now lol

I have one and my callers say it does break up after we talk for a while. I'm still OK with that since I mainly want it for the voice mail. If it's someone I want a long conversation with, I call them on my Vonage line.

Last year they were talking about being able to port your existing number within the year.  So I am hoping it will happen soon.  Magic Jack has an affiliate program too if anyone is interested in that, let me know.
