When I was in school. I had a few very unusual items.

In third grade our teacher made some fried, breaded, dandelion heads.  They actually weren't that bad!

In sixth grade our science teacher made a "Fly Leg Cake".  Yes, a cake which had fly legs in the batter.  We did this whole method of sanitizing/cleaning the flies with UV rays and something else I can't remember.  The cake wasn't all that bad, however I don't think the fly legs actually added any flavor.  :P

In eighth grade, my Spanish teacher brought in pickled pig's feet, which her mother-in-law made.  Those were NOT good.

I've had a lot of unusual food.  I've had snake, camel, zebra, jelly fish, sea cucumber, sea urchin, buffalo, alligator.

cow brains...I do not recommend them.  The p-nut butter, bacon, banana, and mayo sandwich sounds good!  I eat a version of that without the bacon.  Will have to try bacon next time.

where the HECK did you go to school?  :o
haha, that's pretty interesting though.

my mom tried making fried oreos once, but they
didn't turn out quite like we expected.

my boyfriend - although i like to cook us dinner -
would just as much prefer a spaghetti-O + boxed
mashed potato flake + canned green bean mixed
up in a big bowl with garlic salt &pepper...

(you'd think he'd been a beggar on the streets before!  :confused1:)
[ we all have a place in history. mine is in the clouds. ]

haha, that's pretty interesting though.

All the schools were in Connecticut.  Third and sixth grade were public, and eighth grade with the pig's feet was a private school.

While at summer camp the girls at my table dared me to mix everything that had been offered on our trays for the day together...including the watered red punch!  It was totally against my character, but I ate the mush of green beans, corn, cookies, rubbery chicken nuggets, loads of salt and pepper, ketchup...you get the idea...all topped off by the liquid that just made the whole thing soggy and even more gross!  Okay, so it's not Bizarre Foods worthy, but it was unusual for me:)

The most unusual thing I ate was a buffalo burger.  Not that bad, I wouldn't eat it again though.  It has that gamey taste. 8)
