I honestly believe that haiti will be a better place after ALL is over with but how many people have actually taking a look in our own country where homelessness is a way of life for some of OUR VETERANS who have giving this country THEIR time and seen their fellow man DIE in heat of BATTLE returned to our country after "WARS" only to be told - "Sorry you no longer have a place to call home!" WE NEED TO HELP OURSELVES 1ST then try to help the rest of the world!

I hope so, but look at New Orleans. It still isn't back to where it was from what I've read. I haven't been there to see firsthand, but it seems that rebuilding after a disaster is more difficult than hauling out the rubble and starting over again.

Contrary to what most believe new orleans did not get the worst of katrina. This is a picture taken of my home town Gulfport Mississippi after Katrina :

No, need to bulldoze the whole area and send the displaced to another part of God's land. There is nothing left to fix. Will cost too much money with no resources. I say get them out of there and now.... :sad1

Tweekie,
Where do you propose we put them? in america where lots of people are out of jobs at the moment, in the middle of a recession and not seeing very much headway taken by the government to help those who need it most? I saw an article about how new jersey wants to give "ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS" tax breaks for school and jobs! What happens to AMERICAN CITIZENS who can't find jobs? They become homeless!

Many people have taken the opportunity to get out of Haiti. They have been sent to Florida where they will be relocated, and many parts of Europe. You guys need to stop pretending like it's only the US in Haiti right now. Many nations are there, we just happened to be the closest who can provide resources the fastest.

The Haitian government also stated that the search for survivors is called off. So, we're packing our things and leaving. Happy now?

With all the aftershocks, I fear that a bigger one is right around the corner. I pray not. Maybe it is time to move, while they have the support of many to do so.  People can't you see how truly amazing it is; different countries and provinces working side by side. No hate, no one-upmanship. This is Gods will, not the cursing of a people, but the blessing of all pullin' together like they should have after Katrina.

Actually people did pull together after Katrina much better then most people think. If they hadn't no one would have found  myself and my family in the small little 200 something population country town (in the middle of no where lol) in time to save us.

As for the aftershocks the weather all over has been CRAZY ! A tornado in Arizona yesterday and one in California today!?!

I think it will be extremely better.  I think there will actually be solid foundations built, plus a new government.   I think the world is starting to wake up when things happen like this.  We all need to work together and help all that is need.  Its bringing the world together.

I think it will be if the Americans keep financing them instead of taking care of our own! Don't get me wrong-I do feel bad for those poor people;but let's face facts-we have poor, homeless, destitute people right here at home, our own economy sucks,we're financing a war we have no business in,and a slew of elderly and out of work people-seems to me we should take care of our own before we go globetrotting to help others! I would like to know if any country came to our rescue when Sabrina tore the heck out of New Orleans? Sorry to be so cynical,it just makes me angry!
