Problem with Post Office
« on: January 12, 2010, 11:05:24 pm »
I have to say that my life has been a complete nightmare dealing with the post office. I have been waiting for certain items since October 2009 and until this day....nothing. I have confirmed that the mail sent to my address was returned to sender with note that I have moved and left no forwarding address. What's worse is the fact that I've been to the office and spoke with a few different people along with filing an online complaint for the local office assigned for my home. The main 800 number will be answered by a nice sounding representative. I got the impression that the person was not too thrill to listen to story after I started to explain my problem to her. She sounded irritable and impatient. Then, she told me " there's really nothing we can do for you here expect send the message to the location that is incharge of delivering the mail. I finally had to tell her that I speak Engish and I do understand what she had said in regards to the message being routed to the local office. She asked me, "well, so do you want to still file the note or not?"
I called the local office and spoke with a Manager and explained to him that I already came in at least three different occassions and it's has been over two months. He basically took down my name and address and said to me, "okay I'll talk to the delivery person." And that was it...I don't if someone will call me back in 48 hours to tell me that they solved the problem (as stated on their website). I hope they fix the problem for me, please.
There is really nothing you can do with the post office messing up? Shouldn't someone be held accountable for this mess up regardless of whether they are Federal employees or not? It is so fustrating to deal with people that cannot provide service yet are paid the top salary.

Today, I get a telephone call from one of the worker at the local office. The man left me a voice message stating "we have no records of such records for your resident". By this he is saying that the Post Office has not record my undelivered mail???? "If you continue to have this problem, please call the local office branch and speak with a Manager."
Oh WOW...it's been three months...I called the local branch office and ask for the Manager. I was put on hold for 45 minutes before I decided to hang up and call back. It rang and I was put on hold again for another 50 minutes. I gave up and hung up.
It's hard a for me to comprehend the process at this local office. I don't know how they could drop the ball and get away with it. I have to take time out of my schedule to file complainst and research the problem.
I would suggest that when dealing with problems, the first thing to do is to write down EVERYthing. I hear that people are recording their conversations with customer service reps. Is this what our society is coming to?
