Who has CHASE Bank? Do you like them or not??
« on: January 12, 2010, 10:24:14 pm »
I have to say that the takeover of Chase bank has been a horrible experience.  I had never bounced on anything.  I am convinced that they hold out on pending debits and will automatically put them before a large credit.  I have proof of it, and they say its just a coincidence.  WHATEVER CHASE!!!

I have been with Washington Mutual for years before they switch over to the new and wonderful Chase. Since then, I have been charged an overdraft fee on two occassions. The first time they charge me the fee because the ATM machine did not update my balance. I don't know exactly what it means, but the representative with a heavy accent informed me so. I tried asking her what she mean by it, but it was very hard to understand. I got the part when the machine was not updating the information correctly. The second time they posted all the transactions to my account Before my large deposit. I made the purchase the same day for the deposit and it just so happens that the charges ALL cleared the bank before the deposit was verified. I spoke with the banker and told him that I've never had this happen to me before. He was happy to prove me wrong by referring back to the ATM machine incident and then proceeded with telling me that it would be wise to not go over the limit of what I have in my account.  :-X
Are you serious?  :crybaby2: I was furious about this and the last draw came when i deposited cash in the ATM machine. The credit for the deposit was short by $100. I was sure of what I put in the envelope as I just received my pay for the week. I called and inquire why one large bill was deem missing from the grand total of $500.00. I was told that the error was not with the bank. More over, they insist I did not put the amount indicated. Isn't this crazy? I'm just glad that I have other banks to work with. I have since decreased the usage of this account. I hope to eventually stop using them all together. The new merge has created new lines for deposits and erroneous transactions for everyone. I hear things from people as well. It's amazing what banks are getting away with.

I have Chase also. I did have one incident when the changeover occurred but had it remedied when they could not substantiate their accounting activities, but since then all has been great. Additionally, I do not put any deposit in the ATM. I have had other banks screw me over in the past and hence will now put the deposit in someones hand, be it inside or the drive thru but not the machine.

The cash deposit in the ATM was the first and last desperate transaction. I would never ever do that with any other bank. They will not credit you nor work with you with investigating it.

I closed my Washington Mutual account when Chase took over.  They are leading the pack these days in negative Credit Card/Banking actions.  I prefer to stick with credit unions for banking.  They are member owned and no gouging people for fees, etc.
