Are your kids smarter than you?

At what age do you think your children (or children in general) become smarter than you?

My husband sometimes thinks that our innocent little 2 year old is smarter than him, and in some ways he just might be.  My husband is a well educated and intelligent man so there is so much more that he knows than the 2 year old, but for instance my two year old knows much more Spanish than my husband....

Shoot with all the cut back on education in the last few years im gunna say never. Can you believe print is a new way to sign your name? How can they possible take curseve out of the curriculum.

I don't have any kids. But I know I felt smarter than my parents quite often.

Well seeing as my kids are still babies I doubt it. At least I hope not. but i bet my son is going to be. He knows more at a year than any baby ive ever heard of..he is so smart!

I taught my boy to sign his name in Cursive, but that's all. I don't see the point as it's never used anymore. In college everything has to be typed, any forms you fill out have to be in print. It seemed like a waste to make him learn it.

In a lot of ways I know he is smarter than me,and he learns things faster than I do.

well i dont know about my future kids, but im pretty sure im smarter then my parents. well, my dad, coz he said he could help me with my math homework in middle school/ high school..but he had no clue how to do it and would be suck on one question for hrs. i wasnt getting ne where and i was getting frustrated. and yes i do know more spanish then my parents ever will, and i can figure out electronics way before my parents could. i think my mom is smart in ways, coz she knew she would need either a high school diaploma or a ged to get a good job and she got it when she was supposed to and my dad went back to school to get his but never got it and says to this day that he needs it. yes he does need it coz where is he gonna be when and if his place of work ever shuts down? he'll be stuck. and i guess he's content with what he gets paid now but if he would get his contracting lincense he would be making so much more and have a better job and be financially stable and not working so hard to get so little.

i feel the same about my 2 1/2 year old -- he is so bright and picks up things the first time around

yes My 2 month old daughter is smarter than I am and I am very proud of her! She's learning a lot of things early in life! puppy dog eyes, winking, smiles are free!

Smarter being capacity for learning or actual knowledge. Because obviously a young kid can't have more knowledge than an adult.

And my 6 year old nephew is smarter than many adults I know...probably in both aspects of smartness lol.

Yes I think kids are smarter and intelligent because they learn a lot of things that you think they don't know or learn.

we are, we have already lived and learned, we are if we have actually learned from our mistakes, our children have not made them yet? And yes, they will make them, we all do. That is how we learn.

yes i think my kids will prolly be smarter than us.  my 4 yr old knows how to turn on a computer, download screensavers off of games and all kind of stuff.  he is into the transformers, and can pretty much name all of them in the movie.  sometimes it actually scares me.

Haha I don't believe little kids are ever smarter than adults because adults beat them with experience. But children do learn quickly and pick up on things that stick with them that adults will forget. Still..I think in this situation children may be intelligent but definitely lack the experience adults have. Hopefully kids nowadays can just learn by watching instead of experiencing some of the bad things themselves.

Yes, when it comes to Militers, Computer Science, Fashion and Gaming but not in Good Old Common Sense and Experience !

absolutely. they are way more intuitive than adults as well as accepting. they watch their parents and observe their behaviors and copy you. then they learn all that and then turn the behaviors into their own adding their own personalities. they definately are.
