Hip Surgery?
« on: August 11, 2022, 09:16:02 am »
So I have been having issues with my hip lately not sure if it is dire enough for replacement or not but I can not stand on my feet for more than ten minutes without it hurting no walking for more the 20 minutes and now it even hurts to sit for long periods of time any suggestions on how to relieve the pain that doesn't involve pain meds I watch kids and cant be drugged up when I have them?

I would try an anti inflammatory such as ibuprophen or get your Doctor to write a prescription for a stronger anti inflammatory. I hope that you will get better.

Be careful of over the counter anti inflammatory drugs.  They will effect your liver.  I suffered with my knees for years and finally got to the point that if I walked I would cry because it hurt so bad.  The doctor told me it was bone rubbing against bone.  I had to have two knee replacement surgeries within one year and I don't regret it.

Do your research on your problem and go from there.

I would use a chiropractor first, but if he/she can't help, then try your doctor.

Please see doctor first, then decide.  I was supposed to get right knee replacement 5 years ago.  Decided on physical therapy.  I'll take a tramadol, but the pain has subsided.  I'm 72 and not wanting anymore surgeries.

Is having hip survey your last option?  What does your Doctor, specialist say?

Try acupuncture.   If your insurance doesn't cover it check and see is there are any community acupuncture places around you.  They charge less than a private session and many charge on a sliding scale.
