what type of pc do you all recomment to purchase??

I like using a laptop, and the connect cards are pretty cheap, through verison or cricket even.

Depends if you need to be on the move maybe a laptop. If ull be using it at home or office only a desktop should be fine i have a Dell and its pretty good came wt a lot of upgrades.

I like Dell computers.  I have had three of them since my first one in 1995, with absolutely no problems with them.

Dell laptops for me are either hit or miss. My brother has a Dell (don't know the exact model right now) and it's been nothing but trouble. However, my old Dell laptop was amazing like 4 years ago.

Major differences in what you get depending on model.  I have an XPS m1530 and its an amazing piece of computer that just feels solid, probably due to the stronger metal frame underneath.  I bought an Inspiron from Best Buy for my brother, however, and it creaks and bends in all the wrong places.  His hard drive has failed twice and its been nothing but trouble for me since I'm the resident IT guy of the family.

Dell's business line (Vostro) is pretty good bang for the buck though.

Well they're both Inspiron's, just that my old one seemed a lot better. It was extremely rare for me to get a BSOD, however with his laptop a BSOD is a daily occurrence. He probably screwed around with it I'm sure but even installing Windows 7 RC it freezes up for a couple minutes and BSOD's are still common.

Can't really blame Dell for BSOD issues unless they didn't properly install the drivers for him.

At the end of the day, its all about the user.  I've never had an unexplained BSOD or a virus on any of the computers I've used exclusively.  People like to attack Microsoft for every minor thing but most of the time, if you just think about it, you can identify the problem yourself (newly installed hardware without drivers) and fix it.

I will definitely recommend ASUS or Falcon Northwest for laptops and Dell or Gateway for Desktops.
