Dems block the Senate GOP COVID-19 stimulus again
« on: September 10, 2020, 11:06:13 am »
Senate Democrats Thursday blocked a Republican bill that would have provided a new round of federal aid to battle the impact of the coronavirus.

Senate Republicans introduced the bill Tuesday hoping to attract enough Democratic support to achieve a 60-vote threshold needed to begin debate. But no Democrat was willing to vote in favor of the bill, a narrower relief package that would have provided roughly $500 billion dollars for coronavirus treatment, help for schools and universities, and a new round of loans for small businesses. The vote was 52-47, falling eight vote short of the threshold.  The new bill appealed to more conservatives because it cost less and would be partly paid for with existing coronavirus funding that has remained unspent.

Dems aren't happy because it's not the $2.2 Trillion they wanted. They also rejected it because it was laden with conservative provisions they oppose.  (Isn't that nice?) What do they think THEY always do? Their bills are always full of Dem liberal provisions that has/had nothing to do with COVID-19 without a single Republican input.  They were also opposed to a provision that provided lawsuit liability protections for schools, health care facilities, and businesses.  IOW, sue happy people would be allowed to sue those places if they or their kids get the virus. That's crazy! More proof that Dems don't care about lowering spending. That's all they know how to do... spend, spend, spend and block any and all Republican measures to cut spending.

This should not be surprising to anyone who knows how to read and think critically for themselves, but it will of course be denied by any and all liberal sympathizers.

Anyone who thinks that the Democratic Party is looking out for the interests of the common working-class person is so ignorantly mistaken. I remember back in 2016 when LeBron James was campaigning hard for Hillary and he had the gall to say that Republican supporters needed to "educate themselves." But because he has the tremendous athletic ability that so few others have - his uneducated perspective is perpetuated. He refuses to take his own advice.

I know that there is no way to break the hard core liberal voters from the evil spell they are under, but for anyone - anyone - who still falls into the undecided category: PLEASE remember this post from sfreeman8 when you go to the polls or mail in your ballot over the next two months. Remember that it was the Republicans who tried to move on additional financial relief for Americans and it was the Democrats who refused to allow debate and vote. Money that could have helped so many people out while we are still in uncertain financial times is delayed or not coming at all because of Democrats who care more about their issues and interests than those who cannot put food on their tables. Yet they will try to spin this and make it the fault of the Republicans.

Don't be stupid and don't listen to the propaganda and rhetoric about how Joe Biden and Kamala Harris care so much about you while Donald Trump and Mike Pence care only about themselves. You guys are not stupid; you are not blind; you are not sheep.  You are smart. Open your eyes and see. Think for yourselves and don't get taken in by their B.S.

I speak mine and U call me mean.

Hypocrite.

2. (a) Who are the two masters that we can serve? (b) What shows whose slave, or servant, we are?

2 The fact is, your way of life can be pleasing to only one of two masters. Either you are serving Jehovah God or Satan the Devil. A principle found in the Bible helps us to appreciate this. It says: “Do you not know that if you keep presenting yourselves to anyone as slaves to obey him, you are slaves of him because you obey him?” (Romans 6:16) Whom do you obey? Whose will do you do? Regardless of your answer, if you follow the unrighteous ways of the world you cannot be serving the true God, Jehovah.
