Why is it so difficult to find regular sized paper towels at the store? Every single multi-pack of every single brand nowadays always seems to be the select-a-size paper towels. I hate those! Just give me my standard, one size, square sheet paper towels.

Not trying to be a smart a-s-s, but why don't you just take two of the single ones at a time? That would be the same size, wouldn't it? That's what I do when I want a larger size.

Theoretically, yes - that would work. But often when we are grabbing and tearing off towels - it's more of a quick immediate need and a swift motion - grab and tear. So in a habitual haste, it is often difficult to pull off the roll past the first perforation to the second line and efficiently tear at that size.

I know it kind of sounds insignificant, but more often than not - just due to the habit of grab and tear - we end up with smaller than useful towel and just get frustrated with it.

We did eventually find a multipack of regular sized rolls, but those are now running out and we are - once again - trying to find our full sheet rolls.

It may help others to use half of a sheet because the whole sheet is too much, therefore they have halved the whole sheet.  Sometimes that works, but not always.

Thankfully we've been able to find paper towels here.

For the most part it doesn't bother me.  But I notice I am usually using a full sheet.  The quarter is too small.

:cat:

I have been searching online for the industrial paper towels, huge roll and very inexpensive.  I found they work just as well even if they are thinner than brand/store brand paper towels for clean ups and I 'm saving the regular for food use.  I prefer to drain bacon fried foods on regular paper towels.  I have some prices around 6  huge rolls for 38.00, about 6.66 each. They last forever, I've been using one for over a month and it's still huge!

Update 7/21

Finally found a deal, after GC from a survey site, I paid 23.00 plus tax for six rolls, 800ft.  Normal price was $34.56 6 roll case.  This should last a long time, for cleaning and pick up spills.   Now the expensive paper towels will last even longer!! Win Win.

I'm still saying this is the way to go, bought a case in July and haven't even used half of one roll yet, normal use too!   I would have gone thru 8.00 worth of regular paper towels if I stayed with my usual brand!

It's still difficult to find several things. I can't find disinfectant spray or wipes either. Covid-19 has disrupted the supply chain for lots of products.
