Hmm legally your neighbor cannot have a camera pointed into your yard or anyone elses thats invasion of privacy. She can have it pointed at her fence. She could be sued for that. If the dog is barking during the day not a thing your neighbor can do about it. If your dog is barking after 10 at night than she could legally rightfully complain and possibly have something done about it.

You are wrong about pretty much everything you said.  Not sure where you are getting your info.  You cannot sue somebody for having cameras that capture somebody else's yard. Even door bell cameras usually will capture video across the street.  NOTHING you can do about it. I have a neighbor that lives down the street and she has cameras pointed at the road and she monitors EVERY car that goes up or down the road. There is nothing that can be done about it.

Where do you get this magic time of 10:00? If a dog barks CONSTANTLY no matter what time of day or night it IS there is something you could do about it. Obviously that is not the case here. It also I guess depends on where you live. Some places have stricter laws about noise. Technically a dog barking is not any different than kids screaming all day long in the yard.
You are wrong you can sue over anything in general doesn't mean you will win. You are right about the camera issue. You could put something up on your property to block the view of the camera. Other than that only thing you could do is ask the owner to not have the camera pointed at your back yard its up to them to comply or not. They don't really have to. As for the 10 pm deadline we have that all over the state no loud noises after 10 or you could be fined. That includes pets, kids & other humans making loud noises

So are we playing a game of "i know you are but what am i".  No you can't sue over anything.  They will not tie up court time over foolishness.  And I am not sure if you would even have to do something stupid like the "People's Court" crap you see on television.  I do not know what state you live in that has a no loud noises after 10 rule but that is YOUR state.  It is not like that every where else. I don't know if there are any kind of ordinances for noise in my county.

Countrygirl, must you talk to people in that way? Some people will at least try to sue over anything and every thing but it doesn't mean they will win the case. I know someone who tried to sue over someone accidently stepping on their foot. Just try and be kinder with others and THEIR opinions, being kind goes a long way. You do know how to do that don't you?

Must people talk to me the way they do? Go back and read what was said to me. Guess I am suppose to just roll over and take whatever somebody else wants to dish out.  Yes you can TRY to sue over anything.  I can sue you for looking at me in public.  But guess what...No court is going to waste time fooling with something so foolish.  I could say the same thing to you that you say to me.  I don't get it.  You want people to be nice and respectful to you but you are not to me.  You end your post talking snarly and down to me.  Insulting me.  And expect me to just take it.  I don't do that any more.  I use to take what ever anybody dished out.  USE TO.  So I will ask you the same question.  Do YOU know how to be nice? Do you know how to not talk down to others?  :confused1:

Asking you if you know how to be kind is not considered "talking down"  but if you see it that way then I do apologize to you. Now are you big enough to apologize to the way you have answered some people? I never said one would win in the courts but I know some who have tried without success. One gets back what they dish out, do you expect others to take your lip and not respond back the way they do?. You remind me of someone who back in the day I have said the most innocent things and they take it all out of context and spun it into something totally different than how I meant it. You be nice to me and I will be nice back it really is that simple. BUT you roar and me and I can roar louder ha ha ....interesting on how you are going to spin this one, come on I can take it LOL

Its really a matter of perception...but, unfortunately, I guess one needs to factor in expectations as well.

I am not putting a spin on anything. I am doing the same thing you say you are doing. You have proved with your posts you are just wanting to fight. I had not said anything to you that you can in any way take in a negative way.  Somebody smarts off to me and I give it back to them and you jump in.  smh  You say something snarly and then get mad if I say something back.  You were talking down to me.  You just wanted me to take it and not say anything back.

I am not wrong in what I said.  You are not going to get very far in 'suing' somebody for some ignorant stupid something. It will never make it to court.  I have tried to be nice to you but you always turn it in to some big argument and frankly you are not worth my time nor the effort to keep responding to you. ::)

Oh my so much evil and with the virus people still find trivial things to be upset about - it is beyond me.  My HOA is complaining over every little thing (latest wanted the curbs pressure washed).  I think you should ask the police if it is legal for her to be monitoring your yard, I would find it hard to believe it is ok.  Lord, what is wrong with people?

It’s a shame the police said there is nothing to do.  I feel so bad for you knowing cameras are facing your yard/home.  Did you try getting cameras and pointing at her home.  Maybe that might freak her out and she just might take hers down.  Even if you could find cheep looking ones I would give it a shot considering you really have run out of ideas.  Good luck!

I and many members of my family have worked in law enforcement all over the country.  We have never been in a jurisdiction where there is not some sort of curfew on loud noises.   In one area my husband worked one of the homes did weddings and events in their home.  They had to get a permit and let the neighborhood know when one was happening and usually still had to curb the noise by midnight.
