Whenever you can and a service seems inordinately expensive, always shop around.  However, dentistry in ridiculously expensive and should actually be included in health insurance.  Teeth and gums are a very important part of staying healthy and functional.  What often seems the easiest and least expensive with dentistry often ends up being problematic later.

Speaking of healthy gums, my dental hygienist told me to use Listerine daily to help prevent gums receding to stage 5 where I would need a deep cleaning in the future, which costs hundreds.... my gums are currently between a 3/4.  I started using Listerine Total Control at night before going to bed, hope it works -- an ounce of prevention :)

I've never had either.  Did have a debriding once.  That was enough to convince me to brush!

I need to see a dentist but the cost is too much.  I went to one dentist and she said an implant would cost $4,000 for one tooth.  I asked if she had lost her mind.  Greed will out.

I've had both and neither were fun  and very expensive.  After a few years the thing needed to be replaced and now I have an implant (big bucks) on 3 teeth just to keep from getting a partial or having a gap.  If it's not in the smile line, I will get it pulled.

I have heard of many different types of dental procedures "falling out." But, what is the standard procedure by dentists for handling this type of situation? Does anyone know? Or just your own experience. Are they polite and just correct the mistake? Or do you need to buy some sort of insurance for shotty dental work? I basically just think it is unacceptable to have dental work fall out.

I cannot afford to go to dentist unless it is an emergency. I wish I had dental insurance.

As I get older I am losing more teetch UGH and there is no way I will agree to dentures.  I want implants but they are so expensive not that any dental work is cheap.  In fact odd we are having this conversation I have to go to the dentist today at 2:30 (Can't wait NOT)
