Treat or Treating for Halloween

Never went as a kid, but my children and their children go trick or treating, just in the neighborhood.

I had a great neighborhood to go trick-or-treating as a kid and now I'm in an area where I don't see a lot of kids coming to the door.

Allow my kids to go. My daughter has autism and is in high school and let her use a blue pumpkin (represents autism) for trick or treating.

I take the kids and grands trick or treating now, I have always loved it.  But it depends on the neighborhood, we live in a good one with lots of kids so have never had any problems.

Where we live it is very rural so we don't have any trick or treaters.  My daughter has to take my four year old grandson to big subdivisions so he can get treats.

Don't get many kids maybe 10 or so. Did get a 40yr old woman a few years ago all by herself. Will not buy candy yet cause ill eat it before halloween.

I trick or treated as a kid. It was a  great experience and I think that it should continue!

I hand out candy but the way the world is going, opening the door of my house to strangers is getting less and less appealing. This year I'm doing a trunk or treat at my church. I like the idea of having a bunch of people together like that.

I remember back to when trick or treating would start at one in the afternoon and go until eleven at night (curfew). I would have to come home every three hours to drop off one and a half bags of candy. My parents would go through the candy with a magnifying glass and a fine tooth comb for any irregularities that might suggest tampering and then let me have at it. I graduated to taking my kids out for three to four hours. We would create a treasure map of where all the big candy bars were being handed out and revisit those locations several times. It was a little tougher in Colorado because we started seeing more frequency in snow storms on Halloween. We live in a nice secure neighborhood and really aren't as concerned about tom foolery with the candy. With the kids at college we now hand out the large candy bars and cocktails to the adults. The last few years we have been celebrating dia de los Muertos as well.
