We up north  Friday to clean up the gravesites, spend time with a couple of friends, one who had her birthday on Friday the 24th. We go to see them as she is hose ridden mostly. I feel so bad for her, and then today we are  here for my birthday, which I try to forget but the  family doesn't  They keep asking what I want.  I don't want anything.  I have every thing I want or need, But right now I am just enjoying being on the computer and not having to do a dang thing. By the time a person reaches 76 it is time to start getting rid of anything that requires a lot of cleaning and dusting. Time to enjoy life.

Being disabled one day is the same as another. will remember men who were killed in the wars. luckily don't know any personally . my uncle came out of ww2 alive but different never talked much about it.

If you're really honoring Memorial day, it's not a day to be happy about and celebrate.  It's about honor and remembrance.  Over the decades it's become twisted to mean the 'unofficial kick off to summer' but that's not what this weekend is.  For those of us with military families or have had members in the military such as both my grandpas were in WWII, it doesn't mean summer.  It means what it always has, a day to remember those fallen serving this country.  It annoys me greatly when most don't remember this and cloud it with sales or traveling to the beach.  It's a day to travel to the cemetery or memorials.  Hence the name.
