this may only be in ca but the kids have Monday off for cesar Chavez day. My son works for the school and has that day off. Nice to remember such a good man.

He was a union leader for farm workers and a civil rights activist. He founded the National Farm Workers Association in the 60s. What's sad is that I don't remember learning about him in school.

We don't have a Cesar Chavez Day in my my state. But he was a personal hero of mine.

They'll eventually combine MLK & Cesar Chavez Day to one Civil Rights Day like they did for Washington & Lincoln's respective birthdays into one President's day.

I would like to see us celebrate Jonah Salk... the guy who invented the Polio vaccine. Helps everyone, worldwide.
