I use to have deer protectors on my car years ago. I only had them about 3 years because I had some body work done on my car and they where taken off. I don't know if they worked or not.

I was just reading about an attachment that you can attach to your car that gives off a high frequency sound that acts as a deer repellent -- I don't know how well it works, but I use a similar type one on the dog next door to keep it from barking & it always goes back in the house when I turn it on... but i'm not coming at it in a moving vehicle.

Deer are a real problem while driving in my area.  You never know when one will jump right in front of you.  We, too, had a lot of damage to our truck when a deer landed on it.  He must have been taking a bounding leap because it looked like he fell from the sky with no warning.  A few years ago, we tried the high frequency gadget that you attach to your car, and we didn't have any incidents while it was attached, but I read that you need to take them off and clean them. My husband was in this process over the bathroom sink when it fell down the drain. That was the end of the deer whistle, and our sink has never been the same.  Note to self: keep stopper in the drain when holding small objects above it.

It's one of those things where you will never know for 100% certainty if they worked or not because the very fact of them working is something that you cannot see/notice.  You can only know if they don't work in that one instance where you hit a deer.

It is hunting season so you will see more and more,so slow down and pay attention. They run in circles,so if you see them in front of somebody's car they could come back in front of your car.
