Electric failure
« on: July 08, 2018, 07:33:29 am »
My electric went out about 2am -  I hate when the electric goes out because my sleep apnea machine won't work and I am not supposed to sleep without it.  I fell asleep anyway after awhile and woke up when it came back on.  It has stormed here every afternoon but wasn't even raining when it went off.  Go figure.

It may save your life to know that when your CPAP is not available for any reason, try sleeping sitting up (like in a recliner or the car seat laid back a little) instead of lying down. It works for me.

That is great information to know oldbuddy.  I would not have thought of that but it makes sense that being in a more upright position when sleeping would be helpful for those with sleep apnea.

It's never great when the power goes out, especially during these trying hot summer months. We lost power for three days last year and that was just utterly miserable. I can see why some people invest in generators for sure.

There came a time when an outage might’ve lasted more than twelve (12) hours where I lived.

We had a major storm a few years ago and lost power for 5 days.  We lose power in bad storms (rain or snow), we are seriously looking into getting a generator before fall comes.

We had a outage this week when it was 95 degrees and was out for 8 hours.  Got a text from ComEd that there was a down power line which is funny since all our power lines including electric and phone are underground.

Good all came out ok for you. We put in a whole house generator so we never loose power and it's been a great help.
