no simple answer unless people start learning that killing others isnt a good answer to their problems.

But as long as there is no real punishment and kids are not taught to respect others then nothing will ever change.
As a matter of fact, it isn't going to change, it is only going to get worse. I know that. Sad but it is reality.

No more Corporal punishment in schools...fatherless families...violent video games..."GUNFREE" school zones that might as well say open season on students...guards that hide behind barriers when violence happens.

What the first reaction?
Disarm law abiding citizens....there will always be firearms in America.

Remember the "War on drugs"?
That worked real well didn't it?  :-X ::)

I agree with the first part completely.

As for always being guns in America....you are right. The bad guys will ALWAYS have guns even if they did succeed in disarming law abiding citizens.

The war on drugs? That's a joke. The doctors pass out pills like they are candy.  You go to the doctor no matter what your age and thy will try to push pills on you. They are worse than the dope dealers. And it starts young. I have seen as young as 2-3 years old on the pills for ADHD.  Heck when we was kids that was called being a brat and a belt usually took care of that.

Kids need to be taught right from wrong. And as long as you teach them do what every is right for you and nobody can tell you no because that infringes on your rights then nothing will change.

Sad is it has been all over the internet that this kid was not only bullied by other students but also by teachers. I have seen that personally when I was in school.  Only thing is back then kids didn't take a gun to school and blow the crap out of every body.  People can only take so much.  Eventually they are going to snap.

I don't understand with this happening all the time and all these kids seeing that he was being tortured that bad - why didn't anybody do anything?  If nothing else reach out to him and try to be his friend.  Sit with him at lunch or just talk to him. Or report to someone higher that teachers were making fun of him as well.  You can report things anonymously.

So lemme ask,did he target the kids that bullied him or just random killings?

Media plays a big part of the school shootings and I think they should to take some of the blame for them happening as often as they do because I remember right before the 'Woman's March for Life' after the shooting in Florida there was a massive PA school killing that never made the media.  Why?  Because the killer used a knife and had several on him.  That certainly would have made the march worthless since they were supposedly marching to stop violence.  The truth was that march wasn't about life it was about gun control which is why the poor PA school never made national headlines.  Everyone is going to take sides, but as I point out with the PA school, that I had to find out on my own through a PA news website, it is not about the weapon used but about who is doing the killing.  If we really want to stop these school shootings, 1. stop flashing them all over the media/interntet and making these killers out to be some kind of hero by given them fifteen minutes of fame and 2, teach people how to deal with their anger.  If someone has a problem with someone else the thought of killing that person should NEVER enter their minds.  I mean one of the senseless school shootings was because a girl broke up with a guy.  Seriously, I mean if people learned how to deal with anger, if they knew there were others with the same problems they could reach out to for help, I doubt they would look to kill first.  This is the issue that needs to be addressed.  This is because even if you take the gun out of the hand of the killer, but leave the anger, they will just use another weapon to kill.  Just think of all the deadly weapons in your local hardware store.  Okay, ban guns but are you then going to start banning saws, drills, nailguns etc.?  Take the anger from the person, they won't kill.  Take the weapon, they still will.  It's really simple logic.

It's a huge problem when someone gotta use a gun to take out their frustrations on the kids that going to get an education to better themselves, Law makers need to use stricter gun control, or find a way for people who use guns not be so readily available, fines should be enforced to the ones  who sells guns illegally or if a parent has guns at home, guns should be locked away from kids who want to take it to school for to use on someone who is bullying them. They take the cowardly way out. Schools need to have more security. My Prayers goes out to families that lost their loved ones.

From what I am seeing it sounded like he targeted kids he didn't like. He said he didn't shoot kids he liked because he wanted his story told. Orig his plan was to commit suicide at the end but he "could not bring himself to do it".

It's funny because the same people who scream stop bullying participate in it themselves in different ways and justify their actions. But every time this happens it always comes back to it was someone who was bullied, made fun of constantly, or picked on.

It has also been on yahoo that the first person he shot was a girl who "embarrassed him on facebook".  It was a girl he had liked and pursued and even though she kept turning him down he kept pursuing him.  I don't know what she done to embarrass him. But this came from her mother.

Do you happen to have a link to the story in PA?  Seems like I remember hearing about an attack where the person used knives.  You are correct, if people want to kill others they will find a way whether they have guns or not.  The sad part is these stupid idiots who scream gun control - if the people do not have guns then the police do not need guns either.  But the thing is even if the confiscated the guns the bad guys will still have guns. So they good guy is just a sitting duck with no way to defend or protect themselves. People are too stupid to see that.  And these stupid kids protesting do not even know or have a clue what they are doing.

Maybe if they still taught history in school and the learned what has happened in the past when the government took all the guns they would see that this is not something that needs to happen.  And FYI when there is no way to defend yourself and the bad guy still has a gun hiding under your blankie and cuddling your coloring book is not going to help you too much.  If teachers were armed when he came in to the classroom and banished the shotgun the teacher could have dropped him and that would have been the end of it.

I also agree media has a big part of this happening over and over.  But it is way more than 15 minutes of fame. This has been on the news some where solid since this happened. And the stupid liberals screaming "mental illness" so in the end he walks away scott free.

There weren't getting an education to better themselves. lol.  It's high school.  They were there because they have to be.

If you have read any of the stories the parents and family had no idea this could ever happen. No one did.

Instead of blaming the kid who is bullied maybe we need to look at the thug bullies. The people who want to make fun of and torture someone else until they can't take it any more. There was one a few years ago where 2 teen girls and one of their mothers bullied another teen girl until she killed herself then one of the twits who was participating in the bullying just laughed because the other girl died.

I think when stuff like this happens if they can prove who some of the bullies were they need to also be held accountable for the deaths of the ones who were killed. You start holding people responsible for their actions I guarantee things would change.

Because when they actually start doing this the parents and kids cry foul.  They want everyone else to follow the rules but scream violation of privacy if it happens to them.

Right after 9-11 I went to a college ballgame and they had police officers at the main entrance - the only entrance you could enter thru and they searched EVERY PERSON AND BAG THAT CAME THRU THE DOOR.
