The surveys that I find excruciating are those with tons of little boxes where we are supposed to keep checking things.

They ask you the same question a million different ways. Those are like a bad dream, and if it goes on too long, I get out of it.

I don't mind doing long surveys, and I will work for the money, but I will NOT jump through hoops for anyone or anything.

Does anyone know if you get "dinged" in anyway for not completing the survey?

I just completed a survey today that was obviously a SuperBowl ad survey.  It showed me an ad, then asked me questions about how much I liked it.  Unfortunately, I could find very little to like about the ad and since they asked, I let them know and gave my reasons. It just wasn't my cup of tea.  I'm sure some folks would really think it was cool.  I got to the end of the survey and was met with a message that I was DQ'd.  Do you suppose some companies only accept what they want to hear?  Just a thought.

I'm wondering if this is the same ad I saw in a survey today?  I saw one for the Lexus LS.  It could easily have been a Super Bowl ad preview.  It was action-packed with special effects and had a storyline to it.  I could see where it could turn some people off.  Or, some would call it cool.  I evaluated it and got credit.  I would hate to think the survey companies only accept what they want to hear because that would appear to defeat the purpose of gathering feedback, but I guess you never know.

It's just what it is... all part of the game. Kinda like being a dog walker and complaining when the poops are longer than you were expecting. Ya just pick it up and walk on.

I never pay any particular attention to the length of the survey. They’re not always accurate. After all, I earn pennies for every DQs even though there are plenty of times I’ve been disqualified without a penny. Time is even more limited when I’m at work, I complete the surveys during morning / afternoon break including lunch hour. If I am not done, I just come back to it later when I come home from work.

I know what you're saying.  I feel the same way.  It bugs me when I click on a minute survey, because that's about the amount of time I have to do one, at the time, and it says, the survey should take 25 minutes.  I'm like what??!!  I find it very frustrating.

I had a five minute survey today that as soon as I clicked on it, I found out it was really a 30 minute survey.  I don't know why this bothers me so much.  I need NOT to give it the second thought and move on.  I'm working on my attitude, and looking for the positive spin! The good news is that after that, I DID take a $1 survey that moved along as expected and my credit showed up!  Any day you can make a dollar on a survey is a good survey day!!!

I think that is a legitimate gripe and you should feel upset about it when it happens! Like some have said earlier - it might be a quota/redirect issue in some cases. But if that is the case - they should have a transition page which clearly states that and gives you the option to try the substitute survey or not.

I often do surveys on weekend mornings (not just FC, but other panels as well). We also sometimes have errands to run or church to go to on weekend mornings. I cannot tell you how many times I've started a survey which was only supposed to be 10 minutes long when I have a 20 minute window.  Long story short - the survey runs WAY over and I have an upset wife ready to go out the door after I told her 20 minutes before that I was ready to go and just waiting on her!  (I suppose I should learn from my mistakes, but I never do!)

Same thing has happened to me in the evening on days when she is preparing dinner and wants to eat while the food is still hot.  I have ended up closing out many a survey where I was not DQed, but couldn't risk it lasting another 10-15 + questions when I was already well beyond the estimated time limit.  Very frustrating for me to lose out on a potential survey payout and get into trouble with my wife at the same time!  (Sometimes I get the impression she thinks I am just fooling around and wasting time on the computer as opposed to actually earning money so that I can buy her things!)

So, pstovall... I think you have a legitimate complaint and I wish it was addressed/corrected by the survey companies.

I had one of these the other night, so I just left the window open while I ate dinner and came back to finish it. I was surprised, but it actually credited me.

I always choose the shorter surveys first because it seems like they are easier to get idk?

I am really interested to know how FusionCash and other websites estimate how long a survey will take. They are frequently inaccurate.

I also go for the shorter ones first.

Get that often and if it takes me to one that requires a longer time; I may or may not do; it depends on my schedule and also if a very long one if I feel like going through the whole survey so sometimes I do other times not; but no bother as I can just move on to something else; nice thing about FC is the options.

I wouldn't have minded the bait and switch yesterday. If I did get a survey to try, it froze up on me or went to their websidte. I didn't even get the DQ penny!!  Hope today is better
