orld Bank and the U.N. are sounding the alarm over a global water crisis. A joint report released Wednesday says that 40 percent of the world's population is affected by water scarcity.

The report, based on two years of research, says that 700 million people are at risk of being displaced by intense water scarcity by 2030. More than two billion people are compelled to drink unsafe water, and more than 4.5 billion people do not have safely managed sanitation services.

"The ecosystems on which life itself is based – our food security, energy sustainability, public health, jobs, cities – are all at risk because of how water is managed today," World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim said.

"The world can no longer afford to take water for granted," he said       In the US. whether from snowfall or rainfall we have such an excess that is wasted.  In my area snow piles up to melt and gets polluted,rain just goes downhill/floods,all excess needs to be used properly whether sold or given away.  America is called a lazy country and this is one example. Fill empty clean containers with it all and do something with it in our country and the world because water is  life and death.

I agree mankind is polluting the earth.But i also know a loving God will put an end to his BS!!

Excess water in this day  is still an untapped resource and it shouldn't be esp from late fall-mid spring in this country. I  see container ships filled with the most useless junk like billions of things Made in China,more friggin cars yet the idea of just water is beyond them.

Interesting post. It is sad that the USA waste so many things including water. Makes me sad when I see the food waste when so many are starving.

                                                                                                                  When I lived in the Poconos it was well water that we had and it was so pure you would tiny pebbles in the faucet filter every so often. It was pure mountain hard water and delicious.

I don't know if your thinking includes the United States in those stats.  But I hear this type of thing from time to time and people are generally talking about other countries.  Like this doesn't apply to us.  Yet the water that comes out of our tap is pretty much poison.
