take decongestants for allergies and they keep me awake, better then a stuffed nose. use the spray some times but then get hooked on it. so i fall asleep around 3am and wake up 9-or 10. am a little tired sometimes but nap . i dont have to, get up for a job or kids so i guess im lucky. yeah i'll be on here at 1 am .my cat bugs me about staying up so late she'll just stare at me .

It is always a struggle for me to sleep. thinking about too many things in bed. turning back and forth. I try not to eat a hour or so my stomach does not have to digest what i ate. I quit soda so i am now going to sleep better as well and a few other things. :rose:

Yes! Keep busy. Do other things until you are sleepy. Then, go to sleep and have sweet dreams.

I have lots of trouble sleeping too and only get about 4 hours when I really need 8. I recently went to a pulmonologist to get a sleep study done. He said some people's sleep patterns can be measured by machines they get sent home with to hook up to overnight but that mine was an unusual case of sleep apnea so I would have to go to a sleep institute to be watched overnight. I don't particularly want to do that but might if this sleep problem persists for much longer.

I definitely suffer from insomnia; I have to take sleep aid some nights.

I was sleeping, but now my brain is up and I cannot sleep.
I think I am worrying about a lot of things that are going on in my
home and work life.

Do you ever have these kind of mornings?

Getting on the computer or phone is the worse thing to do if you wake up in the night and can't go back to sleep.  It wakes your brain up even more.  I do have times when I wake up in the wee hours of the morning or the middle of the night and cannot go back to sleep.  Or I can't fall asleep to start with.

I seem to need about 5 -6 hours and then I wake up, no mater how early or late I go to sleep I wake up after 5 1/2 - 6 hours.  I think I need more sleep, but seem to be fine.

I am sorry you are having a hard time sleeping.  Try not to worry over the daily problems of life before going to bed.

yes sometimes even after being up for like 18/20 hours straight when I get home and go lay in bed after work my mind still doesn't shut off. it can be fusterating.

althou since starting 3rd shift work I find that I can fall asleep faster than I used too.

my body just gets too tired for my mind to interfere sometimes.
