I feel it's my responsibility, especially if I didn't earn the money through work, just luck

Family would be at the top of my list. Depending on how large a windfall there would be houses paid off and children going to college.

Well, about how big of a windfall are we talking?  :-\

I would rather not commit until I know the specifics.

I'm basically pretty stingy, but I do like to help others.  :angel11:

It all depends on how big the windfall is, If it's big enough that I can share why not. They are my family we always help each other out when we can.

If I received a windfall, I wouldn't tell anyone about it. I would just quietly help out family and friends who really needed help. If I let everyone know that I had the windfall, I'd have family and friends coming out of the woodwork just to get a piece of the pie! :(

My parents would get what ever they want, 100%...my sister's family too.  For everyone else, I guess it depends on how much this windfall is.

Depends on how much I get.  If it's a couple thousand I'd share with my mother.  If it was a couple million I'd share with more extended family.

First and foremost .. charity begins at home .. I cannot help others until I first help myself.

The best thing to do, in my opinion, is to first make the principal work for you and then you can help yourself and others with the profits made by the initial principal and still retain that principal.  Remember, once you spend it .. it is gone for good.

If you received a windfall would you share with family an friends?do you think thats the godly thing to do? Would you be selfish an say forget them?

Taking care of yourself is not being selfish.  It would depend on how much money I got.  My parents and brother are about as far as I would go with giving money to family.  That is the only ones who would give me money if the situation were reversed.  Would have given to my Mammaw but she is in Heaven and doesn't need it now.  As far as "friends" no I don't have any "friends" that I would give money to.  I would donate to a couple of worthy causes.  Causes I choose not ones that found out I had money and contacted me.

If I won something like the lottery or Publisher's Clearing House I would definitely share. I have family members and friends that often struggle to pay their bills.
