I joined, but the benefits I was able to derive really didn't justify the cost of yearly membership.

I have used  it for motels and hotels ,  meals, once in a while  the senior discount a business  gives is a little high though. Too bad we can't get both but oh well.  Also wish  more business would just let us know they give discounts instead of us having to ask.

Yes I was, and they keep badgering you with deceptive mailings every year to make it look like perhaps you forgot to renew.

I was always told that being an AARP member is a waste of money.  Are the coupons worth more than the membership fee?

Have a great day!

Sometimes at restaurants and at times for travel, I have been able to receive some deals in the pass but mostly I do the restaurants and coupons.

I keep getting the information in the mail, but have not joined yet.  I like the magazine they have so I am sure that I will eventually join.

Search out info on AMAC (Association of Mature American Citizens) as opposed to AARP as you approach seniorhood (my word).

AARP supports a lot of things I don't support. AMAC takes a more conservative position.  Then make your informed choice based not simply on discounts. No offense meant.
