looking for something
« on: August 05, 2017, 07:00:04 am »
I do a lot of online shopping.
there are times when I can't find something because I have the wrong name for it.
I have to be very specific and then I find what I need.

My son has an online job that speaks to that very issue. He rates the words used to call up sites. That's more simplistic than it really is, but it shows the issues there are just by searching on the internet.

I suppose those who advertise on the web grab on to anything that can lead you back to them. It has gotten harder and harder to search for things because of all the garbage it brings up. Too bad.  :dontknow:

Sometimes I like to browse and the sites often give suggestions of things I may be interested in.

I've recently loaded an app on my phone called Geek.  It's stuff made in china, takes a couple of weeks to get delivered to you but the prices are up to 90% less than buying in stores or on amazon.  We got a set of wireless headphones today for my husband that was 79$ in the stores, got it for 4$ and 2$ shipping. Just had to wait a bit longer for the shipping.

 Here are some hints:
    -Be specific
    -Narrow it down
    -Give more details
    -Use different browsers:
               Internet Explorer
               Google Chrome
               Mozilla Firefox
               Apple Safari
Let us see what happens then.

Usually if I can't find what I'm looking for, I go on ebay and search a few terms I think it might fall under and I've always found the name of what I was looking for rather quickly....

i do most of my shopping online --just easier for me cause i hate to go to the store and shop and this way it is delivered right to my house and i dont have to waste gas to go fight crowds at the physical store
