Southwest monsoon storm damage
« on: July 17, 2017, 11:10:17 am »
We finally got our first big round of monsoon thunderstorms through phoenix last night. Some of the most frequent lightning I've seen and severe wind that shredded my vegetable garden and blew up a couple of transformers, power was out for a while but thank God no major damage. Forecast says another round is due within 48 hours. Anyone else nearby in the southwest getting this storm system?

I am in  southeast N.N. and we have not had any rain. Just some  clouds and we are so dry. But if it as bad  as  you have had  it can go on by us. Of course  here where we are it is all flat land and we don't worry about floods except in the river and streams.  But I feel for those who have been flooded out or those who have lost loved ones.

Wow thank God it wasn't worse for you guys and it sounds bad enough.  It sounds like God is bowling here and it is absolutely pouring but so far we are doing ok.

Seen on news here in Ga. about a family of 9 that died in a flood, my prayers goes out to that family from Arizona.

Thank you, I didn't know them but it's so heartbreaking to lose an entire family. Three generations, little kids and all... I understand they were out there celebrating one of their birthdays as well :( Flooding seems so out of place somewhere as dry as this and every year someone is caught off guard.
